Nagaland Govt makes arrangements for PM’s interaction with beneficiaries

DIMAPUR, MAY 29 (MExN): The Nagaland State Government, along with the rest of the country, will be taking part in the interaction with the Prime Minister with beneficiaries of government schemes and programmes on May 31.  

In celebration of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate the Indian Independence, the PM will interact with beneficiaries of about sixteen schemes/progammes spanning nine Ministries/Departments of the Government of India. 

The state level function will be held at Kohima, and the district level functions will be held at all the district headquarters from 9:30 am onwards. The state level function will be held at State Cultural Hall, Kohima and will be presided over by Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, Nagaland and also attended by Ministers and Advisors. The district level functions will be presided by the respective Chairpersons of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Advisors/Deputy Commissioners, and also other dignitaries.

A press release from the DIPR informed that all these schemes “address the poorest segments of population; therefore, the event is aptly named as Garib Kalyan Sammelan.”  The principal objective of the interaction is not only to understand how these schemes have brought about ease of living for the citizens, but also to explore possibility of convergence and saturation.  

The Sammelan is one of the largest ever single-event nationwide interaction spanning all districts, wherein the PM will interact with beneficiaries of schemes like Pradhan Mantri AwaasYojana (both Grameen & Urban), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, POSHAN Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission (both Grameen & Urban), Jal Jeevan Mission & AMRUT, Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Scheme, One Nation One Ration Card, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ayushman Bharat PM Jan ArogyaYojana, Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre, and Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana.

The state level programme and all the district level programmes will be linked with the national event at 10:55 am when the PM will be live from Shimla interacting with the beneficiaries with the country.   

The national Sammelan will be telecast live through Doordarshan in its national and regional channels.  Provisions have also been made to webcast the national programme through MyGov for which people need to register themselves.  It can also be viewed through other social media channels viz., YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
