Kohima, July 22 (MExN): The Social Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland has requested to report cases where a child has lost both parents to COVID-19; child of a single parent who became orphan due to the parent’s demise from COVID-19; lost the bread earner of the family to COVID-19; a child with no parental care and support due to COVID-19 “so that necessary care and support can be given to the vulnerable children.”
The Director, CPS, Department of Social Welfare, A Tosheli Zhimomi has notified that in case a child in distress below the age of 18 years falls under the stated categories, are to be reported to the Child Protection stakeholders, with reference letter from the (village/ward, block, panchayat, and colony covid core committees) within 20 days of the demise of parents.
