‘Nagaland Govt welcomes decision of ENPO’: Kronu

Kohima, July 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Government has welcomed the decision of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) to forgive the state government with regard to the May 26 Tuensang fiasco.

This was conveyed by Nagaland’s Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu. “We appreciate the wisdom of ENPO for understanding the government and deciding to forgive,” he said.

Kronu who is also the Government spokesperson on COVID-19 pandemic, assured the ENPO that “we will always try to understand each other’s problems and work together in cohesion in the interest and welfare of the State.”

Meanwhile, Kronu reiterated the High Powered Committee on COVID-19’s decision to bring out a new single Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all purposes in the fight against COVID-19 in Nagaland. The new SOP will include guidelines for handling of returnees and lockdown measures.

Though the drafting of the new SOP and guidelines has begun, the Minister said it will take some more time to come into effect as thorough study will be made in order to avoid any confusion.

He, therefore, informed that the current SOP on returnees and lockdown guidelines will remain in force till the time fresh one is issued.
