Nagaland: H & TE Minister highlights urgent need to upgrade colleges

Union Minister assures special package for Nagaland and other North Eastern States

Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): The Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education, Nagaland Temjen lmna Along met Union Minister, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), GOI, Prakash Javedkar on May 29 at his office in New Delhi and apprised him of the poor condition of institutions in the Higher Education sector in Nagaland.  

A press note received here stated that Temjen Imna emphasized on the urgent need to develop the existing colleges by upgrading the colleges into Model Degree colleges and also the need to create new professional colleges in the State to cater to the needs of the younger generation.  

The Union Minister has assured to provide special package for Nagaland and other North Eastern States, where the needs of institutions under Higher Education will be accommodated under RUSA Phase 2.  

Meanwhile, Temjen lmna expressed gratitude to Prakash Javedkar, Union Minister Human Resource Development for approving New Model Degree College and Professional Colleges to Nagaland State under RUSA Phase 2.
