
DIMAPUR, APRIL 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Directorate of Health and Family Welfare today informed that precaution dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for eligible persons are now available at private hospital Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs).
A press release from the Health Department informed that the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program has successfully covered about 96% of the population aged above 15 years with at least one dose while 84% of this population is now fully vaccinated.
Based on inputs received from domain knowledge experts, the Government of India has decided that all citizens aged above 18 years and up to 59 years on completion of 9 months (i.e. 39 weeks or 273 days) from the date of administration of 2nddose are eligible for precaution dose starting April 10, 2022.
Eligible citizens will be vaccinated with the same vaccine as previous 2 doses (Covishield or Covaxin), the department stated. Eligible citizens need to carry the 2nd dose certificate, same ID proof and mention registered mobile number used for 2nd dose while going for vaccination at Private CVC to receive precaution dose. Citizens can book appointment for precaution dose at PCVCs or avail walk-in vaccination also.
Precaution dose vaccination will only be available at selected private hospitals who are registered as COVID Vaccination Centres (CVC). Interested private hospitals can approach Office of the Chief Medical Officer for registration as a CVC on CoWIN.
HCWs, FLWs and Citizens aged 60 year or more, shall continue to receive precaution dose vaccination free of charge at Government Vaccination Centers.
