Nagaland Health Minister seeks central support for projects in state

DIMAPUR, APRIL 6 (MExN): Nagaland State Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom today met Union Ministers, JP Nadda, Anupriya Patel and Shripad Naik in New Delhi and sought their support for several health projects in the state.  

A press note from the PRO (IPR), Nagaland House, New Delhi informed that the Nagaland Minister, who was accompanied by departmental officials, apprised the central leaders about the progress made by the state in implementing various centrally sponsored schemes.  

He further requested help and support from the central ministry to run the Nagaland Medical college in Kohima as a central institute like NEIGRIHMS or RIMS; towards improving the infrastructure facilities in the District Hospitals in Tuensang and Longleng; setting up of a New Medical College in Eastern Nagaland; setting up of AYUSH Hospital in all the districts; setting up of accident and Trauma centres in all district hospitals; and establishing a Regional Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Research Centre in the state.  

The Union Ministers reportedly assured to “extend all possible help to complete the ongoing projects in the State and also to consider the new projects proposed by the State Government for improving the health sector in the State.”  

Phom meanwhile extended invitation to the Union Minsters to visit Nagaland and personally see the progress made by the state in implementing the centrally sponsored schemes/ projects.
