Nagaland: Heavy rainfall predicted in coming days

DIMAPUR, MAY 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has informed that Nagaland will experience isolated heavy rainfall in the coming days. There may be heavy rainfall from May 28 to 31 all over the state, a press release from the NSDMA informed.

Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is very likely to occur in certain pockets in the districts of Kohima, Wokha, Kiphire, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Longleng during this period.

The NSDMA urged the public to be vigilant during the monsoon period. The public is requested not to shelter under large trees or picnic near river banks to prevent unnecessary risk to life from lightning and flash floods. The NSDMA also requested all the DDMAs and line departments responsible for attending to emergencies caused by natural calamities, to be on alert and save lives and properties during this monsoon period.
