Nagaland to hold annual U-15 & 18 cricket tourneys from 2020

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has decided to hold annual Inter-School Under-15 and Under-18 tournaments in all districts either in the month of February or March from 2020. The events will be followed by Inter-district tournaments.
This was resolved during the first NCA’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at its Conference Hall, Sovima on November 2, informed a press release from the Association.
NCA presently conducts annual Inter-College and Inter-club tournaments in every district.
The new team of Office Bearers of NCA also declared its commitment to uplift the game at grass root level and has decided to construct cricket practice pitches in all District headquarters in Nagaland, further informed the NCA release issued by its Joint Secreatry A Rahman.
The Association will also provide Junior Kits to the District Associations to conduct regular coaching, it said.
The meeting also appreciated Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for granting full-fledged membership to the NCA and also acknowledged all past officials of NCA for their sincere efforts in difficult times to uplift the game of cricket in Nagaland, it added.
The Office Bearers also appealed to all District Cricket Associations for co-operation as the responsibility as a full-fledged member of BCCI is huge, the release said.
The meeting was attended by Kechangulie Rio (President), KH Sukhalu (Vice President), Anilo Khing Khing (Hon. General Secretary), A. Rahman (Jt. Secretary) and Abei Rups (Treasurer) along with two District Cricket Association Officials from Kohima, Tuensang, Mon, Wokha, Peren, Phek, Zunheboto, Mokokchung and Dimapur and other members of the Apex Council of NCA.
A one-minute silence was observed in memory of the departed member Late Moses Khrumo.
