Taking the platform of National Sports Day, Nagaland today honored the sportspersons of the state by awarding cash prizes to those sportspersons who excelled at the regional, national and international level since 2021. The event, organised by Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland took place at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.

Gracing the occasion as the special guest, KG Kenye, Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs praised Nagaland's achievements in sports. He encouraged the sportspersons to uphold discipline and determination, assuring the government's commitment to support them under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

S Keoshu Yimkhiung, Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports appreciated the awardees' dedication to promoting sports and bringing honor to both the state and the nation. He urged them to contribute to India's prowess on the global sporting stage.

Altogether, 319 sportspersons were awarded cash prizes in various sports categories/disciplines.
