Nagaland IAS cadre Rajiv Bansal appointed Civil Aviation secretary

Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): Rajiv Bansal, an IAS cadre from Nagaland (1988) has been appointed as the Union Civil Aviation Secretary. Bansal will replace Pradeep Singh Kharola, upon his retirement this month-end, IANS news agency reported, citing a statement from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Presently, Bansal is working as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India.

In the Nagaland Department of Personal and Administrative Reforms’ State Civil List (as on January 1, 2020), Bansal, who holds a Bachelor in Engineering (Civil) degree and Diploma (Business finance), was listed as the third senior-most IAS cadre from the State and currently on Central Deputation. He was appointed to the present grade on January 1, 2018.
