Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): In what was described as a significant step towards “internationalising skill development and expanding global employment opportunities” for the State’s skilled youth, the Government of Nagaland on December 15 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Germany-based Jobs-in-Germany GmbH.

The MoU was signed at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur, by the Director of Industries & Commerce and NTTC Chief Executive Officer, P Tokugha Sema, on behalf of the State government, and by Ralf Kratschmer, Co-owner and Managing Director of Jobs-in-Germany GmbH.

Senior government officials, German representatives and NTTC officials were present at the signing ceremony.

The strategic partnership reflects the Government of Nagaland’s vision to develop a high-quality, globally competitive technical workforce aligned with international industry standards, the Skill India Mission and Germany’s Skilled Immigration Act, according to a press release from NTTC.

Promotion of bilateral cooperation between Nagaland and German states, including Bavaria, in the areas of technical education, German language acquisition, cultural integration and workforce mobility is another stated objective.

As per NTTC, the agreement seeks to align the Centre’s training programmes with German and international industry standards and facilitate workforce mobility for trained candidates.

The collaboration will include German language training (A1, A2 and B1 levels), cultural orientation, faculty training, curriculum support and linkages with German employers.

The MoU also envisages cooperation in vocational training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities, in line with the Skill India Mission and Germany’s Skilled Immigration Act.

The release further informed that 22 candidates have been selected for the first batch and will undergo a seven-month training programme beginning January 12, 2026.

The MoU marks a first-of-its-kind institutional initiative in India, positioning Nagaland as a pioneer in government-led international workforce mobility and reaffirming NTTC’s role as a centre of excellence for globally aligned skill development, the release added.

On its website, Jobs-in-Germany GmbH (www.jobs-in-germany.in) described itself as a specialised agency “focused on connecting skilled professionals from India with opportunities in Germany.”
