Kohima | March 26 : Responding to the call of the observation of “Earth Hour” today, the denizens of the state capital Kohima too joined the rest of the world by showing deep concern towards mother earth in the form of switching off the lights for an hour from 8:30 PM. This is the third time Nagaland has been observing the “Earth Hour “with the rest of the world. SMS was doing the round during the time of “Earth Hour” here, appreciating one another for showing concern towards one’s contribution towards climate change. One SMS goes like this, “Thanks for observing earth’s day hour from 8:30 to 9:30 PM as we all have concern on drastic climate change…” Mention may be made that Nagaland’s governor Nikhil Kumar in his address at the opening day of the assembly session in Kohima appealed to every Naga citizen to join “Earth Hour” by switching off all lights for one hour at 8:30 PM on March 26. “Let us send out a strong message to the world that we too care for mother earth,” Kumar said.
