Nagaland joined the National Level Kala Utsav online Competition 2022, which is being held at the Directorate School Education, Kohima. It will continue till January 12.
Liyalo Apong, Deputy Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland said that this programme is jointly organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India and the National Council of Educational Research & Training, New Delhi.
He said that this event in the form of Art Festival focuses on promoting traditional folk and classical art that reflect India's rich culture, tradition and civilization and also to create a platform to explore exchange and experience the diverse cultural heritage of the country.
It also highlights the importance of culture and develops a better sense of identity, belongingness as well as an appreciation of other cultures.
Out of 18 participants from Nagaland, 12 participants are performing at Directorate of School Education Studio for six days while another six participants partake in Visual Art 2D, 3D and Indigenous Toys and games.
