Nagaland launches RoW portal for Telecom Infrastructure Permissions

Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The Official State Right of Way (RoW) portal was launched by Advisor IT&C, S&T, NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon at the Directorate of Information Technology & Communication, Kohima on April 27. 

Speaking at the launching programme, Kikon stated that telecom connectivity has now become an essential service with the paradigm shift to work from home, virtual meetings and video calls, online classes and so on, a DIPR report stated. “The uptakes of e-services, e-commerce and e-governance and online classes have increased significantly,” he said.

The Advisor informed that the Department has undertaken a comprehensive guideline as notified by the State Government on December 2, 2019, stipulating a set of standards for granting of permission for installation of telegraph infrastructure both over ground and underground within the territorial jurisdiction of Nagaland. 

Kikon said the online portal has been developed for processing of applications and issuance of permission by the nodal officers and approving authority under the guidelines. In pursuance to the notified guideline, the State Right of Way (RoW) online portal has been developed with the objective to ease the process for obtaining permits and bring transparency, accountability and responsiveness to all stakeholders while processing the application for Telecom Infrastructure Permissions, he added.

Kikon informed that all physical forms presently available for the identified services will be made accessible to applicants as e-Forms through the Portal. As a result, the applicant will be able to fill the form online and submit it electronically. The submitted e-form will be routed through RoW portal to the respective nodal officer and approving authority for examining and issue of permission. 

The launching programme was chaired by Principal Secretary IT& C, KD Vizo while Director IT&C, Tongtiliba delivered the vote of thanks.
