Kohima, May 14 (MExN): A four-day training programme for Master Trainers of Census 2027 began at the Conference Room of the Directorate of Census Operations in Kohima on May 13, an official DIPR update informed.

The training programme, which will continue till May 16, is aimed at covering all aspects of Phase-I of the forthcoming Census — the House Listing and Housing Census.

Delivering the keynote address, Director of Census Operations Dr Kenei Miachieo briefed the participants on the organisational structure of the Census at both the central and state levels and provided an overview of the Census processes.

Highlighting the importance of the Master Trainers in the training cascade, he described them as a crucial link in the implementation process and urged them to give their best during the subsequent training programmes.

Officials said there are six Master Trainers for Nagaland, including four from the state government and two from the Directorate of Census Operations.

The Master Trainers will subsequently train 130 Field Trainers, who will in turn train around 6,000 enumerators and supervisors for the Census exercise in the coming days.

National Trainers Mhathung Rangthang, Assistant Director, and Imtimendang, Statistical Investigator, are serving as resource persons for the programme, the officials added.
