Nagaland to observe ‘Silence’ on January 30

Kohima, January 27 (MExN): Nagaland along with the rest of the country will be observing ‘Silence’ on January 30 in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India's freedom. In this regard, the Home Commissioner has directed all the District Administrations, Government offices throughout the state of Nagaland to observe two minutes silence at 11:00 am on January 30. Instruction may be issued to all subordinate offices for observance, the statement added.

NCD informs

Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): The office of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has requested all concerned Naga Councilors to attend the 13th Bishu Mini Hornbill Tribal Festival on January 28, 11:00 am at Urban Haat, Dimapur near Supermarket old Dhansiri Bridge. This was stated in a press release by Thsapongkyu Sangtam, General Secretary, NCD.

Thevoma Union informs

Kohima, January 27 (MExN): The Thevoma Union of Rüsoma village will be organizing a get together on January 29 at Rüzazou from 9:00 am. In this regard, the Union in a press release has informed all the clan of Thevoma both young and old to come and participate in the programme. Members have also been informed to come in traditional attires.

KUT extends invitation for KhaozaosieHok-Ah festival

Tuensang, January 27 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Union Tuensang is organizing the KhaozaosieHok-Ah festival at Tuensang Town on January 29 with L. Khumo, Advisor for Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economics & Statistics, Government of Nagaland as the Special Guest in the festival programme. Informing this in a press release, KUT General Secretary Mudang has appealed all the Khiamniungans living in and around Tuensang headquarters to compulsorily attend the festival programme. The KUT has also extended invitation to other communities living in Tuensang HQ to come and be a part of the festival. The formal programme will begin from 9:00 am at Parade Ground Tuensang Town and will be followed by the KhaozaosieHok-Ah Cultural dance by Peshu village, Nokhu Village, Yokao village and Khiamniungan Cultural Club Tuensang, the release further informed.

JCPI calls joint meet to discuss CAB on Feb 2

Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): The Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) under the initiative of Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has invited every apex tribe hoho, mass based organisations, student and youth bodies, trade and business bodies, and all CSOs for a thorough and threadbare discussion on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 and ILP/BEFR on February 2, 11:00 am at Hotel Tourist Lodge, Dimapur. JCPI Convenor K Ghokheto Chophy and Secretary Tia Longchar in a press release has invited responsible leaders of the organisations “to understand the emergency situation arising out of CAB and attend the said meeting positively.” It also informed various organisations be represented by the respective president or General secretary at the least.
