Hebron, February 2 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) as per the directive of the Collective Leadership has convened the National Hoho on February 11, 11:00 am at CHQ/Hebron. Rh. Raising, Convener Steering Committee, NSCN (IM) in a press release has requested both civil and army authorities to attend the meeting positively.
CEO informs political parties on EVMS
Kohima, February 2 (MExN): The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland will hold a State level awareness/demonstration workshop on use of EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) with VVPAT (Voter verifiable Paper Audit Trail) with all the political parties on February 6 at Japfü Hotel; Tapi Hall at 11:30 am onward, in view of the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2019. In this regard, all the political parties are requested to participate by sending at least three representatives to attend the awareness workshop positively.
NASU 45th biennial general conference
Kohima, February 2 (MExN): The Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) will hold its 45th biennial general conference at Kijiimetouma on February 8 under the theme “Ignite excellence.” Special guests of the conference will include KD Vizo, Commissioner & Secretary, IT & Power, Government of Nagaland, Dr Kenei Miachieo, IFS, Conservator of forests, Department of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Kohima and Menuokholie Kire, Joint Director, Higher Education & State Project Director RUSA.

Kejong Chang condoles demise of H Chipong
Tuensang, February 2 (MExN): Kejong Chang, MLA Tuensang Sadar-II has expressed grief on the demise of H Chipong, Ex-Head GB of Sotokur village and grandfather of Kihomong EAC, Sotokur who passed away on February 1 after a brief illness. Chang, in a condolence message stated that “he was a man of dignity, integrity and God fearing. His valuable services rendered to the people of Sotokur village deserve to be called as pioneer in social, educational and religious aspects.” “Today, we witness the continuous bearing of good fruits through his contributions,” the message added. On his demise, the people of Sotokur village have lost “a fatherly figure and a vacuum created by him would be difficult to fill,” Chang said, and conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
Order on arms license verification
Mon, February 2 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2019, the Deputy Commissioner and DEO, Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS has issued an order to all licensed arms holders in Mon District to produce the arms license along with arms in the nearest Police Station on or before February 20 for verification.
