CNSA supports initiative of NGBF on CAB issue

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 7 (MExN): The Central Nagaland Students Association (CNSA) has supported and endorsed the initiative taken by Nagaland GBs Federation (NGBF) to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 and for early settlement of the Naga Political issue. In a press note, the CNSA has appealed all its constituent unites to cooperate and attend the public gathering in Kohima on February 8 and also to enforce the February 11 bandh called by the NGBF for the larger interest and to safeguard our identity and future.

CTC announces dates for BD entrance examination

Mokokchung, February 7 (MExN): The Principal, Clark Theological College, Aolijen, Mokokchung-Nagaland, in an official note has informed that the entrance test for admission to Bachelor of Divinity (BD) degree course for the new academic year starting from June will be held on March 12 and 13. Candidates who intent to apply for the same should note the following: for 10+2 passed and mature candidate (after 5 years of ministry). The duration of BD degree course is five years and for Graduate and above from any stream is four years of studies. The Principal also noted that those intended candidates who completed Bachelor of Theology (BTh upgraders) studies can also apply for 2 years BD degree course at the College. Kiphire MCMC constituted

Kiphire, February 7 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming General Election 2019 from Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency, and as per the direction of the Chief Electoral officer, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee Kiphire (MCMC) has been constituted with M Shayung Phom, DC & DEO/ARO, Tanzeel Osama, DIO, NIC, Ketarutmak, DPRO and Tsipise Antony, Journalist.

AICC appoints state social media coordinators

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 7 (MExN): The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed “Social Media Coordinators” for the states of Nagaland and Rajasthan and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep and Daman & Diu. X Chopika Sumi and Kewengule (Aby) have been appointed as the coordinators for Nagaland. A press release issued by Lok Sabha member and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal informed that the appointments were approved by party President Rahul Gandhi.

Verification of arms license in Kiphire

Kiphire, February 7 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming general election to Lok Sabha Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency 2019, all arms license holders under Kiphire district have been directed to produce their arms license along with arms for verification at the nearest police stations as per the address in the license on or before March 25. M Shayung Phom, Deputy Commissioner (DC) & District Election Officer (DEO) Kiphire in a notification informed that failing to produce the license for verification within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of license(s) as per appropriate section of law.

Kohima Police seizes 100 kg contraband

Kohima, February 7 (MExN): The Anti-extortion Cell/DIB of Kohima Police intercepted one Maruti Van on February 7, while conducting routine checking of vehicles at Kidima area. According to a press release from PRO, Kohima, the van bore registration No. NL-07-0086, Engine No. 2451790, Chassis No. 570507 and the seized contraband ganja weighed 100 kg. In this connection, two persons were taken into police custody and a case was registered at Kohima South Police Station for further investigation.
