
PAC emergency meet
Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) has convened an emergency meeting with all the 16 tribal representatives and frontal organizations of Dimapur at 11: 00 am, at Tourist Lodge Dimapur on October 1. The meeting “will deliberate on further course of action and to take stock of the present situation,” the PAC Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) informed in a press release issued by its Media Cell. It further requested all members to attend the meeting positively without fail.
Peren DPDB meeting postponed
Peren, September 30 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has informed all DPDB members that Peren District DPDB meeting has been postponed to October 10. Members have been requested to take note of it and attend the meeting positively.
GPRN/ NSCN condoles demise of member
Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The President, GPRN/NSCN has expressed grief over the demise of Y Tongmeth Konyak, Advisor to the Collective Leadership NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) who passed away at Mon on September 30. The President in a press release issued by its MIP stated that Late Konyak was one of the senior Naga Nationalists who dedicated and committed himself towards the cause of the Naga National movement. “His contributions and service in various capacities since 1984 spanning 35 years towards the Naga Nation is most worthy and benefiting to be accreditable for the cause of the Nagas. His demise has created a huge vacuum in the society in particular and NNPGs in general which would be much longed for,” he said. The GPRN/ NSCN conveyed its condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to God to grant solace and comfort at this grievous time and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
SJU observes literary programme
Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Political Science department of St Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur, managed by DMI sisters and MMI fathers observed a literary programme on September 27. A press release issued by FR Savariappan MMI, PRO SJU Dimapur stated that the activity was split into two sessions namely the audio visual quiz competition and a debate session on the topic, ‘Can Nagaland progress under Article 371A?’ The programme started with a brief speech on the importance of literary activity by the Head of the Department Dr Achanger. The audio visual quiz competition was conducted by J Benjong Ozukum (Assistant Professor Political Science). The debate session was moderated by Heli (Assistant Professor Political Science). The session concluded with the distribution of certificates and cash awards.
