NNC/FGN to observe 68th Martyrs’ Day 

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will be observing the 68th Martyrs’ Day of the Naga Nation on October 18 at central, regional and sub-regional levels. Wreaths will be laid on the graves of the martyrs, informed the FGN in a press release. The Central Authorities of the NNC/FGN will observe at its headquarters at 10:00 am and the regions/sub-regions will observe in their respective regions in accordance with their conveniences. In this regard, it has requested all the fellow Nagas to participate in the events at the nearest venue and pay tribute to the Martyrs together.

 

Directorate of Economics & Statistics shifted

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): This is for general information that the Directorate of Economics & Statistics is now shifted to the new Directorate building, Ruliezou, New Capital Complex, Kohima, (below the Directorate of Land Resources). This was informed in a press release issued by Y Sacheo Ovung, Director, Economics & Statistics, Kohima.

 

Naga student selected to attend PMILP in Bengaluru

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): 60 outstanding students were selected from Science & Performing Arts from all across the country on the occasion of the launch of Pradhan Mantri Innovative Learning Programme (PMILP), DHRUV in Bengaluru on October 10. According to Samagra Shiksha, Atenle Seb, a class XII student of Government Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu was selected from Performing Arts and is attending the programme.

 

Midland Panchayat Council informs 

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): The Midland Panchayat Council, Dimapur has informed that “the Council had totally prohibited the formation of any type of union that involves monetary manipulation such as business union, welfare union etc.” Council chairman, R Sanen Longkumer in a press release has informed all citizens concerned, residing under Midland Colony to report immediately to Midland Panchayat Council authority if any such cases arise. 

 

District Medical Board in Peren

Peren, October 11 (MExN): The Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Peren has informed all the Departments in Peren District that the District Medical Board is scheduled to be held on October 24 from 10:00 am in the office chamber of the Chief Medical Officer, Peren. A press release from District Media Officer, NHM, CMO office has directed all departments who have candidates for confirmation of service, invalidation and commutation of Pension etc, for Grade III & Grade IV employees to submit the list by October 23 addressed to the Chief Medical Officer, Peren for necessary action.

 

PSTTU supports Nagaland Timber Traders' Union

Kiphire, October 11 (MExN): The Pungro Sub-division Timber Traders' Union (PSTTU), Kiphire District lamented that “half of the profits are always wasted on illegal and unabated taxation from different tax toll.” The Union, therefore acknowledged the Nagaland Timber Traders Union (NTTU) on their move to Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court, seeking direction to the department of the forest, Government of Nagaland. The Union in a press note expressed their support on their stand and assured full support and cooperation towards the Nagaland Timber Traders' Union. 

 

NPCC appoints in-charge of trainings

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has appointed Capt GK Zhimomi, General Secretary, NPCC as in-charge of trainings. This was informed in an order issued by NPCC General Secretary (Admin), N Yona Konyak. 
 

 

NPCC suspends membership

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has suspended the membership of I Asang Jamir, President ACCC 2nd Dimapur-II with immediate effect for “bringing internal issue to the public domain, for physically assaulting Nagavito Sumi, Secretary, NPCC and disrupting the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi celebration event.” NPCC General Secretary (Admin), N Yona Konyak in a press note stated that Asang Jamir will cease from functioning as President ACCC 2nd Dimapur-II. DAC of NPCC has been directed to take appropriate disciplinary action as deemed fit and proper, in the absence of DAC of DDCC. 

 

NNC-PB ZLR-R (AMN) terminates one

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): The Naga National Council Parent Body Zeliangrong-Region (AMN) has terminated Lunkhongam Kuki, D. Coy 3rd Battalion ZLR-R of Ahthibung town, Peren district with immediate effect from October 10, for his “anti-party activities and his detrimental actions despite several warning is served to stop by the authority.” The NNC-PB ZLR-R (AMN) MIP cell in a press release stated that, “he continued to violate the Azha for his selfish interest which severely effects the smooth functioning of the government under Zeliangrong-Region (AMN) NNC-PB.”
