DC Wokha informs DPDB on biometric attendance
WOKHA, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): Vice Chairman, DPDB & Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS has informed all DPDB members that in order to promote e-Governance and enhance transparency, biometric attendance system would be set up for DPDB meetings. In this regard, all DPDB members have been requested to get their biometrics captured/registered at NIC office (DC office complex) during office hours on or before October 21. Members not registered will not be able to mark their attendance during the meeting, a DIPR report informed.
DENSU to conduct social work on October 19
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students' Union (DENSU) will be conducting a social work cum cleanliness drive on October 19 from 6:00am onwards, between the stretch of Town Hall and Supermarket Wednesday Bazaar. A press release from the DENSU informed all bonafide members (7 member's each from federating unions) to participate without fail.
Khm Police arrest one on charges of extortion
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): Kohima Police apprehended one person identified as Jacob Krocha on October 16 in relation to alleged “extortion” calls made through the phone. A press release from the PRO, Kohima Police informed that during preliminary enquiry, it was ascertained that the arrested accused person is an “active member of the NSCN (Khango) in the rank of Tatar.” “The arrested accused person is found to be involved in several instances of illegal extortions in and around Kohima Town from business establishments, contractors and private individuals,” the police informed. It added that a case has been registered under Chiephobozou Police Station and investigation is on.
KMC revises mutton rates
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has revised the rate of mutton within Kohima municipality with immediate effect and will remain till further notice. The notice from the KMC Administrator, Kovi Meyase informed the new price regime as: cut meat (dry) – Rs 560/kg; head – Rs 200/kg; intestine – Rs 220/kg; and legs – Rs 100 for four pieces. “If the meat is detected to be administered with water, it shall be seized and license shall be cancelled,” the KMC further cautioned. This is subjected to be revised as and when deemed necessary by the authority.
NNC meeting on Oct 25
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) today informed that there will be an emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC), NNC at the office of the NNC Chedema, Peace Camp Chedema on October 25 at 10:00am. The meeting will discuss on some important issues, informed a press release from NNC Vice President, L Kaiso. “No separate information will be served, therefore all the CEC members and Regional Presidents are request to attend the meeting as scheduled,” it added.
Parl quiz cum debate competition on Oct 18
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The State Level Parliamentary Quiz & Youth Parliament Debate Competition 2019 organized by the Department of Parliamentary Affairs under the theme ‘Be the Voice’ will be held on October 18 at ATI Imagine Hall, Kohima. Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu will be the Special Guest for the occasion. The inaugural programme will be chaired by Coordinator, State Level Youth Parliament, Evothung Ezung while Assistant Professor, Kohima College Kohima, Dr. Eunice Alinger will pronounce the vote of thanks. Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Motsuthung Lotha will propose the welcome note.
Workshop on minor irrigation scheme at Khm
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The Department of Water Resources, Nagaland under the aegis of National Hydrology Project, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD &GR is organizing a national workshop on benchmarking of minor irrigation schemes on October 18 at Hotel Vivor, Kohima, Nagaland. Highlights of the programme include short speech by Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang, OT Chingmak Chang, IAS, Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department & Project Coordinator, NHP, Dr. K.J Anand Kumar Scientist-D (Deputy Director), NPMU, DrAnju Gaur, team leader, World Bank and Amarendra Kumar Singh, Chief Engineer CWC, New Delhi.
CANSSEA meeting on Oct 18
Kohima, October 16 (MExN): A Consultative Meeting of the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees' Association (CANSSEA) executives and department nodal officers is being convened on October 18. A press release from the association informed that the meeting will take place at 3:30pm at CANSSEA Office, Themezie, High School Road Kohima for deliberation on various pertinent issues. All concerned have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
Mon DPDB meet held
Mon, October 16 (MExN): Mon District Planning & Development Board meeting was held along with DC & Vice–Chairman DPDB Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon on October 15. During the meeting, the house approved and recommended for registration of Wangla Society Tizit, Little Planet Foundation Society and UkhaLamlung Welfare Society. As per DIPR report, the Board also discussed on inter-departmental tournament of Mon district which will be held in the month of November.
