CCLB general session postponed

Kohima, February 18 (MExN): The 6th General Session of the Chokri Chakhesang Literature Board (CCLB) Cum Chokrimi General meet 2019 has been postponed until further notice. It was scheduled to be held on February 20 at Phusachodu Village. According to a press statement issued by CCLB Chairman, Jolayi Nienu, “the postponement which creates inconveniences to the invitees and program participants,” has sought apology. The release further informed that, the proposed session scheduled date as and when finalised will be notified at the later date.

DDGDA meeting held

Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): Dimapur District GBs Association (DDGBA) during its meeting held at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur on February 16 deliberated to stand as per its constitution and stated that “election observer cannot exist since there is no article on election in their constitution.” During the meeting, the house also elected GB Zepto Rengma as the new Treasurer and GB Kikhevi Yepthomi as Vice President. It further discussed to collect membership fee tribe-wise, through GB union or association. This was stated in a press release from DDGBA President GB Longer Jamir and Secretary GB Atso Angami.

GBs under Kohima Sadar informed

Kohima, February 18 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has informed all concerned Gaon Buras under Kohima Sadar areas to submit the Annual House Tax for the year 2018-2019 to the SDO (C) Sadar on or before March 15. “The house tax has to be collected by the concerned GBs and submit to the authority as per the enclosed format. Failure to submit the house tax within the stipulated time will entail forfeiture of the House Tax commission and Red Blankets to the erring GBs,” a release informed.

NSCN (IM) mourns demise of Ngachonpam Zimik

Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of Colonel Ngachonpam Vashai Zimik, Commanding Officer, Kiusumong Battalion, Naga Army, from Lamlang village of Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) on February 18. He joined the National Service on August 9, 1991. A condolence note issued by its MIP said that he served the Nation with sincerity and loyalty in various capacities. “His name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifice for the Naga Nation shall ever be cherished.” Meanwhile, the MIP also announced that “he has been bestowed the rank of Brigadier by the office of the Adjutant General, Naga Army, in recognition of the service rendered towards the Naga Nation and as a mark of tribute to the departed comrade. “The Nation and GPRN proudly salute this brave son of the soil and convey condolences to the bereaved family,” it further added.

Army recruitment rally for Sepoy Pharma

Kohima, February 18 (MExN): Army Recruitment Rally for Sepoy Pharma will be held at Mariani (Assam) on March 7 for enrolment of youths from Nagaland only. The online application has started and will remain open till March 2. For registration online, login to www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates who have registered in the previous rally can login directly and check eligibility and apply fresh. Colonel C Konwer, PRO (Defence) in a press release informed the vacancies are for Sepoy Pharma (10+2 or equivalent exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, qualified in D Pharma with minimum 55% marks in aggregate and registered with State Pharmaceutical Council/ Pharmacy Council of India. Individuals qualified in B Pharma with min 50% marks and registered with State Pharmaceutical Council/Pharmacy Council of India) are also eligible. CEE will be conducted at Jorhat on April 28. CEAN elects new office bearers

Kohima, February 18 (MExN): The Civil Engineers' Association of Nagaland (CEAN) organized its 29th General Meeting 2019 on February 16 at CANSSEA Conference Hall, Kohima. According to a press release from CEAN Advisor Er Albert Peri, new executive members for 2019-20 tenure were elected during the meeting. Subsequently, Er Taiwang Konyak was elected as President and Er. Nungshisosang as General Secretary. Earlier, Er Ponghen Bezo, Junior Engineer, PHED was the speaker. The meeting was chaired by Er Imlitongzuk Jamir, Vice President and Er Waweu Wetsah General Secy presented reports. The association has further appealed all civil engineering graduates to register in the association.

AR apprehends NSCN (K) cadre

Mon, February 18 (MExN): Assam Rifles, Mon Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended Peter Konyak, (34) at Mon Town on February 16. A press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (N) stated that the following items were recovered from his possession- 01 x 0.22mm Pistol and 02 x 0.22mm Live rounds. The apprehended person has been handed over to Mon police station for further investigation, it further added.
