AR apprehend NSCN (R) cadre
Kiphire, May 7 (MExN): Kiphire battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (R) cadre with arms and ammunition on May 7 in Vongtsuvong area, according to a press release from HQ IGAR (N). The individual has been identified as Lensu (29). The recoveries from the operation included one muzzle loading rifle, four 12 bore rounds, six .303 used carts, one camouflage pattern shirt, two packets of muzzle loading weapon powder, seven blank NSCN (R) extortion slips, four NSCN (R) documents and one mobile set, the release added. The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Pungro Police Station for further investigation.
World Red Cross Day in Dimapur today
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Dimapur District Branch has requested all the Patrons, Vice-Patrons, Managing Committee members, Life members, Junior Red Cross members, various NGOs, leaders of the society, and well-wishers to be present to observe World Red Cross Day on May 8 at 11:00 am at Pranabananda Women’s College, Lhomithi Colony, Dimapur. A press release from the Branch vice chairman, Ajay Sethi has informed that free dental camp will also be organised on the day at the college. Dr. Dipika Jain, BDS and her team of nurses will voluntarily screen the students with support from nurses of Shri Digambar Bhagwan Mahavir Charity Clinic, it said.
