ANTA Wokha unit social work
Wokha, June 3 (MExN): To observe World Environment Day 2018, All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha unit has called for a mass social work from DC office ‘Y’ junction to Kashmir Lodge ‘Y’ junction (taxi counters area) on the theme ‘Beat plastic pollution’ on June 5 from 7:00 am onwards. A press release from ANTA Wokha unit general secretary, Lipenthung Ovung has informed all the residents, shopkeepers, taxi counters, bus counters of the areas to join in the social work. It also appealed all the taxis owners to participate. The unit meanwhile requested the administrator of Wokha Town Council (WTC) to provide Swachh Bharat vehicles to dispose of the waste materials.
Digitization of Legal Services Clinic at Kohima Law College
Kohima, June 3 (MExN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) in collaboration with Sarvahitey Foundation is launching Law Books and Digitization of Legal Services Clinic at Kohima Law College on June 4 at 9:45 am. It will be launched by Justice LS Jamir, Judge, Gauhati High Court & Executive Chairman NSLSA. A brief presentation on Sarvahitey Library Project will be presented by Prem Prakash, Director, Kids Heaven School & Co-Founder of Savarhitey Foundation. The Professor-in-Charge, Students’ Welfare, Kohima Law College Kezhokhoto Savi in a press release has requested all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college to assemble at college premises by 8:00 am.
KPC informs on membership
Kohima, June 3 (MExN): Kohima Press Club (KPC) is conducting its annual membership drive from May 15 to June 15. In a press release, the KPC executive council informed all members of the club that renewal of membership is fixed at Rs. 500 and they may contact any of the executive members with regard to renewal matters. The amount for fresh membership is fixed at Rs.1500. Anyone seeking regular membership, both renewal and fresh, will be required to produce a photocopy of his/her identity card duly issued by the media organization he/she is associated with. Fresh applicants have been requested to contact KPC president, Xavier Rutsa at 9436001665 for membership forms.
Tuensang DPDB meeting
Tuensang, June 3 (MExN): The felicitation programme of newly elected MLAs of Tuensang district cum Tuensang District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of June will be held on June 11, 11:00 am at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall here. Therefore, Nribemo Lotha, District Planning Officer & Member Secretary, DPDB Tuensang has requested all the DPDB members to attend the meeting.
Dimori Cove to remain closed in June for renovation
Kohima, June 3 (MExN): The management of Dimori Cove, Kigwema has regretfully informed its patrons that Dimori Cove will remain closed for the month of June 2018 to facilitate revamping and renovation of the establishment. Date of reopening will be duly notified, it said in a press release, adding “apologies for the inconvenience caused and we look forward to your continued support.”
Acharya to attend conference of Governors
Kohima, June 3 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya will be attending the 49th conference of Governors & Lt Governors from June 4 to 5 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. A press release from the Governor’s PRO informed that the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the conference, which will be attended by the Vice President, Prime Minister of India, Home Minister and other senior ministers along with senior officials of the Government of India. Presentations on flagship programmes and other welfare schemes will be made by various government agencies. The conference will also discuss on the status of higher education in states, state universities and skill development for employability. Ideas on how to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi will also be discussed during the two-day conference. The occasion will discuss implementation of various flagship programmes and share the best and good practices adopted in various Raj Bhawans for wider dissemination, the release added.
