BJP Wokha office shifted Wokha, February 26 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha District has informed all party workers of the district that the District Party Office has been shifted to PWD Colony near Gas Agency. All party official correspondence and work will be functional by February 27 from the new office, a press release from the party’s Wokha unit informed and requested all to avail the same. Meanwhile, the ranks and file of the district unit has expressed its profound gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu for inducting BJP legislators Dr. TM Lotha, Paiwang Konyak and Imtilemba Sangtam to his newly formed Ministry.   Western Yimchungru Women mourn Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): The Western Yimchungru Women Association (WYWA) has conveyed sadness at the untimely demise of Rev. M. Hankiu Joshua, former Mission Secretary of the Yimchungrü Baptist Borü Amukhungto (YBBA) on February 24 due to a fatal car accident. Late Hankiu was a dedicated and humble servant of God who served in different capacities relating to church ministry and was referred to as "Mission Hankiu”, the WYWA stated in a condolence message. Remembering his 16 years of service to YBBA, the association conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and the YBBA and prayed that the Almighty grant strength and peace to cope with the sudden loss.   One NSCN (K) cadre held Kohima, February 26 (MExN): The Changlang Battalion under the aegis of DAO division apprehended one NSCN (K) on Sunday morning during an operation in Mulong village. A press release from the Press Information Bureau (Defence) identified the cadre as Machow Ngaimong. He was apprehended based on specific intelligence about presence of a cadre “trying to terrorize and carryout extortion” in Mulong village, the PIB release claimed. The battalion swiftly launched an operation and apprehended the Cadre with a pistol and live ammunition, it added. Post interrogation, the arrested cadre admitted allegiance to NSCN (K) and further divulged that he has been an active part of the banned outfit for last seven years, the release further claimed.   AR medical camps Peren, February 26 (MExN): Troops of 36 Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at Pedi village of Peren district on February 25 with an aim to provide basic medical treatment to the villagers residing in the interior areas of the region. A team of Assam Rifles medical staff comprising one doctor, one nursing assistant, two BFNAs and two assistants provided treatment to a total of 121 people - 33 males, 35 females and 53 children - of Pedi and neighbouring villages and distributed medicines for various illnesses, informed a press release from Assam Rifles. Meanwhile, 35 Assam Rifles conducted medical camp at Wakching village in Mon district on February 24. Capt Tejesh BS, Medical Officer and paramedical medical staff of 35 Assam Rifles treated 240 patients comprising 37 men, 169 women, and 34 children and distributed medicines to the patients for free. People from around 7-8 villages attended the medical camp. According to the AR, the villagers conveyed gratitude to them for conducting the medical camps.   GHSS Jalukie treks to Mt Paona Jalukie, February 26 (MExN): 40 students and two teachers from Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie are participating in a trekking expedition to Mt Paona, the third highest peak in Nagaland. The expedition which commenced today is being organized by the 36 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (N), a defence press release stated. According to the release, participants will trek from Benreu village to Mt Paona and will be introduced to issues covering environmental protection, forestation and protection of wild life. The event is aimed at fostering a spirit of adventure and to create awareness about the natural beauty of Nagaland amongst the local children, the release added.   AR promotes career in defence Kohima, February 26 (MExN): 41 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a lecture cum awareness programme at Goverment High School, Piphema on February 24 to “educate” the students on various career avenues available in defence and paramilitary forces, a defence press release informed. Further, 41 AR is currently conducting a registration cum pre-recruitment training at Medziphema, the release added.
