Transfer, posting of officers Kohima, March 14 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has ordered transfer & posting of the following IAS/NCS officers with immediate effect as under: Kelei Zeliang, Secretary to Chief Minister and Rural Development relieved of Secretary to Chief Minister; Hiazu Meru, Special Officer to Chief Minister and Deputy Secretary, F&CS transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary, Finance Department. Training on National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture Medziphema, March 14 (MExN): Integrated Extension Training Centre (IETC), Medziphema organised a one day inaugural and training programme on National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA) for Agriculture officials from 5 districts of the state at State Agriculture Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema. Resource person for the programme was Alongla, Consultant, NeGPA Kohima, who imparted hands on knowhow on e-governance and its applicability in the agriculture sector, a press release informed. The training was chaired by Z. Kenei, Sr. Lecturer & i/c Principal (IETC), while the keynote address was given by Alet Hansing, Joint Director, Agriculture. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Watimongla Jamir, Lecturer IETC. CTYO seizes expired goods Chumukedima, March 14 (MExN): Chumukedima Town Youth Organization (CTYO) seized a large stock of expired consumer goods and other items during a surprise checking conducted from March 6 to 10 in and around its jurisdiction. “The seized goods/items ranges from baby cream-powder, cold drinks, dairy products, biscuits to even expired medicines,” stated a press release from CTYO president, Kezhanguto Zhotso. The seized items were destroyed in the presence of the Chumukedima Town Head GB, Chumukedima `A' village chairman and the Chumukedima Mothers’ Association, it was informed. The CTYO has appealed to the public to be aware of such health hazardous goods and items, and also warned the business community to refrain from selling or stocking such commodities which will result in strict action against them. NAAC Peer Team to visit Model Christian College Kohima, March 14 (MExN): All the stakeholders (teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students, parents/guardians, alumni and prominent citizens) of Model Christian College (MCC) and well-wishers associated with the college directly or indirectly have been informed that the Peer Team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, will visit MCC for assessment and accreditation on March 20 and 21. NAAC is an autonomous organization established in 1994 by the UGC with headquarters at Bangalore to assess and accredit higher educational institutions. “The visit is neither an inspection nor an attempt to solve any grievances. The whole process is to validate the self study report and help the institution in quality assurance,” stated a press release from Principal, MCC. The Peer Team consists of Prof. Anand Deb Mukhopadyaya, former Vice Chancellor, Vidyasagar University, Kolkata; Prof. Mohammed Abdul Kalam, Department of Sociology, Tezpur University; and Dr. L. Birendrakumar Singh, Principal, S. Kula Women's College, Kongkhampat, Nambol, Manipur.
