
BJP Longleng unit resolves Longleng, March 16 (MExN): The Longleng district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided that the party ticket in the State assembly election 2018 will be issued in consultation with the local committee. The decision was taken during the 4th executive meeting of the unit held at BJP head office, Longleng district on March 11. The meeting also decided that the local committee will be formed at the earliest, according to a press release from B. Chemben Phom, G/S & Organizer, BJP Longleng unit. Youths motivated to join Indian Army Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): A motivational lecture on joining the Indian Army was conducted under the aegis of 164 Inf Bn (TA) (H&H) NAGA by Maj Awomi. Col MK Singh, Director Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office Rangapahar also spoke at the lecture held at Rich Mount School, Dimapur on March 14. He highlighted various job avenues in the Indian Army and required standards to join such as passing written exams, physical tests and medical examination. A total of 70 young boys, girls and teachers attended the lecture and clarified their queries. Medziphema dept co-ordination meeting held Medziphema, March 16 (DIPR): Medziphema Sub-Division Departmental Co-ordination meeting was held on March 15 at ADC’s office, Medziphema. The meeting, chaired by ADC Medziphema, Sara S. Jamir, discussed issues on departmental land encroachment and resolved to abstain from issuing No Objection Certificates (NOC) for any departmental land allotment. The ADC also urged the officers to encourage the public to judiciously use the compensation money acquired from the ‘four lane’ and ‘railway’ projects. She requested the concerned departments for improvement of power supply and repair of roads. Problem of water supply was discussed where the ADC highlighted that proposal for the same has been submitted under NEC and would be taken up in the next DPDB meeting. Further CTC and PHED Department were asked to present departmental activities report in the next meeting. Livestock vaccinated in Chumoukedima Village Chumoukedima, March 16 (MExN): The Veterinary department, Dimapur organized a vaccination camp at Chumoukedima Village on March 14, where more than 500 livestock were vaccinated free of cost. The camp was held led by Dr. L Temsu, Joint Director and Dr. Imomeren with more than 20 doctors and staff, informed a press release from Chumoukedima Village Council. The council said it was impressed by the doctors and staff of the Department, who went home to home to help the villagers. It thanked all doctors and staff for their help “which would go a long way in protecting and saving the livestock in the village.” Financial literacy camp held in Losami Phek, March 16 (MExN): The Chakhesang Women Welfare Society in collaboration with the Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd., Phek Branch conducted financial literacy camp on March 14 at Losami village. Supported under FIF managed by NABARD, the programme aimed to create awareness among the masses regarding various financial products and services offered by the banks to the general public. During the programme, bankers shared the importance of banking, savings, financial planning and various benefits available in the bank, informed a press release. The programme, facilitated by Zechete-u Nusory, had Imsunaro, DDM, NABARD Phek, Thepfulezo Sale, BM, and Kahoto Zhimo FO, NStCB Phek Branch as resource persons.
