
36 AR recovers 25.15 Kg Marijuana Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): The Assam Rifles on April 27 recovered 25.15 Kg (approx) Marijuana from a resident of Songlhuh village, Athibung. The recovery was made during an operation by troops of 36 Assam Rifles at Songlhuh village after specific input, a press note from Lt Col Amitabh Shrama PRO, HQ IGAR (North) informed. The owner of the house identified as one Benjamin Chungma (45 yrs) was arrested and handed over to Athibung Police Station, Peren district along with the recovered items for further investigation, it added. AR recovers IMFL Mokokchung, May 6 (MExN): Based on specific input, the 44 Assam Rifles recovered liquor worth Rs. 90,000 from a vehicle at Impur Junction on April 28. According to a defence press release, the vehicle – a Hyundai Santro Xing bearing number NL 07 3205 – was found carrying 197 bottles MC Dowell rum and 52 canned beer. The driver along with co-passenger of the vehicle was apprehended and handed over to the local police along with the recovered items for further investigation.
