  PG prog at St. Joseph’s College Kohima, August 17 (MExN): St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama has been granted to run master programmes (PG), particularly in the Department of English from the coming June, 2018. A press note stated that the inspection team from Nagaland University visited St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama on July 13, 2017, regarding grant of permission to run master programmes. Accordingly, Prof. S.K. Sharma, Dean, SET as the convener, Prof. Nigamananda Das, former Head, Dept. of English, NU and Associate Prof. MD Aktar Jamal Khan, Dept. of English, NU as members constituted the Inspection Team which visited the college. In this special regard, the management, staff and students expressed gratitude to all who have made this possible especially to Fr. Dr. Sebastian Ousepparampil, Principal of the college.   Dimapur Govt College SWFC formed Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): Dimapur Government College Student Welfare Fund Committee was constituted on August 5, 2014 by the recommendation of IQAC of the college under the chairmanship of the principal along with the four faculties from different departments of the college. The objective of the SWFC is to provide financial help to the needy students. The contribution made this year by the Principal, Faculty members and various departments of the college the committee could provide the stipend for the year 2017-18. After screening the applicant the committee conducted personal interview of the students on August 9 and selected 16 (sixteen students). A press note from the college informed that students are asked to collect the stipend from August 17 from the College Accountant.   Water metering system for old Minister’s Hill Kohima, August 17 (MExN): With the concern of water supply to the consumers in the state capital Kohima, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) accordingly with phase wise is introducing the water metering system to the colonies. Er. Vikeduolie Mepfhuo, EE (U) Kohima, PHED informs that the water supply distribution point at Old Ministers' Hill near VIP guest house area will be converted to water metering system. In view of this, the water supply will be disrupted for a week from August 21. Hence the consumers are requested to clear their outstanding dues and report to the concerned Junior Engineer of the Ministers' Hill section along with the necessary receipt for conversion of their water supply lines with necessary payment, the department also request the consumers to kindly bear the inconveniences at the time of process.
