ADC Kohima demarcates ‘Sealed Area’ 

Kohima, August 27 (MExN): ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa has notified that in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive person residing at Potterlane Colony, Lower PWD Colony and D' Block, Sector B, Kohima, areas are demarcated as ‘Sealed Area’ in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing. The ‘Sealed Area’ includes a house in Potterlane Colony; a house in Lower PWD Colony; a house in D' Block, Sector B. “All movement of person/vehicles within the defined ‘Sealed Area’ is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the date of sealing,” the ADC informed.  In another notification, the ADC has notified that in view of the detection of Covid-19 positive cases, a house in D. Khel, Kohima Village and two houses in Chiechama Village are demarcated as ‘Sealed Area.’ “All movement of person/vehicles within the defined Sealed Area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the Date of sealing i.e. on August 23,” it added. 

AR donate street lights at Mon

Mon, August 27 (MExN): Assam Rifles donated 50 LED street lights for installation in different wards of Mon Town and in this connection the Mon District Administration has appreciated and expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles led by Brig. Sheoran, DIG, Assam Rifles, Tuensang and Col. Navdeep, Commandant Officer, 35 Assam Rifles Mon for their gesture and unfaltering support in the development of the District. The LED street lights were installed with the technical support from the Department of Power led by Asangba Tikhir, Executive Engineer, Power Mon. 

Committee on Government Assurances meeting 

Kohima, August 27 (MExN): An Oral Evidence Meeting of the Committee on Government Assurances (2020-2021) with the Department of Nagaland Public Works in regard to the implementation of reservation of 37% BT Quota for the appointment of Backward Tribes in the Department has been fixed for September 8 (Tuesday) at 11:00 am in the Assembly Committee Room. A notice from the Commissioner & Secretary has requested all members of the Committee on Government Assurances (2020-2021) to make it convenient to attend the meeting. 

DC Noklak notifies against disclosure of identity

Noklak, August 27 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Noklak, Reny Wilfred, IAS in an order issued on August 26, stated that it is be the bounden duty of every citizen to stop the spread of the corona disease and to prevent the stigmatization of COVID-19 infected patient. Therefore, the DC has informed all that disclosure of the identity of COVID-19 patients in any forms is a punishable offense. Disclosure of identity leading to stigmatization and discrimination of patients by any individual, organization shall be liable to prosecution as per relevant section of the law.

YUTT former president mourned 

Tuensang, August 27 (MExN): The Yimchungru Union Tuensang Town (YUTT) has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members of late Among Yimchungru former president YUTT. The Union in a press release conveyed, “Though we have lost a great person, we pray that may our Almighty God receive his soul in eternal peace and grant strength and courage to all his family members.”

CAJC asks govt to sanction fund for road maintenance 

Zunheboto, August 27 (MExN): The Coco Area Joint Council (CAJC) has made an appeal to the Government of Nagaland to “sanction sufficient fund to cope up with the maintenance activities” of Coco Doyang road.  The Council in a press release stated that MLA Er Picto Shohe 32 A/C Atoizu and Executive Engineer (R&B) Atoizu Sub-Division has maintained the Coco Doyang road via Emloto for which the public are grateful to them.  CAJC, however, maintained that during the monsoon season, this road is always in deplorable condition making it very hard for vehicles to ply through. “With the initiative of our concerned MLA the road has been repaired by filling up of potholes, clearance of landslide and water clogged drains,” it stated.  According to the Council, the Coco Doyang road has been serving as a lifeline for many Sumi inhabitants as well as other districts and therefore requests the State Government to sanction fund.
