Night carnival at Medziphema
The Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO) is organizing the Festive Night Carnival from December 7-15, 2017 at Weekly Friday Market, Medziphema Town once again with a view to celebrate the onset of festive season and promote unity. In this regard, MTYO in a press note has invited all interested to open stalls which can be availed with a nominal fee under certain rules and regulations. It has also requested all well-wishers and denizens to participate in the daily night event which will culminate with a free, open-air concert comprised of local artistes and a free Christmas cake lucky draw where all visitors will be eligible to win. DNYO for decorum during Hornbill International Rock Beat Contest
The Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO) has welcomed the Hornbill International Rock Beat Contest which is scheduled to be held at Agri expo, 4th mile from December 3-10. In a press note, DNYO president Vekre Puro and general secretary Wati Imsong has requested all the visitors to maintain decorum and discipline by adhering to the directives of the organizers and volunteers. It also informed that no foreign liquor would be allowed to be brought inside the expo site. Further carrying of arms and any unwanted items in and around the expo area apart from security people have been prohibited, it added.
NTA city and village tour
Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA) is organizing city tour and village tour as part of the Hornbill festival which began on December 1, 2017 at Naga Heritage village, Kisama. A DIPR report stated that the main purpose of this tour is to showcase the lifestyle of Naga people domiciled in the villages and at the same time get to know the city better. While touring, the participants would be visiting Kohima city besides Khonoma and Kigwema.
RGTF draft on seniority list of regular graduate teachers
The Regular Graduate Teachers Forum (RGTF) has notified that the central team has prepared a draft on seniority list of regular graduate teachers and the copies are available with the respective district and sub divisional conveners. A notification issued by RGTF convener, Kekuolhouthie, secretary Temjenyapang and treasurer, Visato Koso has informed all forum members to check out their necessary particulars from respective convener on or before December 15, 2017. Any anomaly/discrepancy detected on the list may be brought to the central team for necessary correction, it stated.
VVPAT demonstration drive at Ghaspani- II A/C
In order to giving more thrust to SVEEP campaign in the district, DC & DEO Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel along with Vikhweno Chale, ADC & RO Mediziphema and Sentilong Ozukum, EAC & ARO, Mediziphema visited Ruzhaphema and Bungsang villages under Medziphema sub division for demonstration of VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Machine) on December 2, 2017. A press note stated that concerns related with the VVPAT were also answered by the District Administration team. The villagers in attendance also appreciated the VVPAT which would be used in the upcoming assembly election in Nagaland.
Clean election awareness prog at Aboi
A Clean election awareness program was held at Aboi Town on December 2, 2017. A DIPR report said Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Veneikho exhorted the gathering to clean the present electoral roll and follow the guidelines of Election Commission of lndia (ECI). Convener of Clean Election Campaign (CEC) Konyak Baptist Church Association Nyamto, Peihwang, CEC member and Mongnyei Pastor, Police Baptist Fellowship Aboi were the resource persons.
ECI extends date for filing claims and objections till December 10
Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel has informed that the Election Commission of India has extended the period of filing claims and objections up to December 10, 2017 to enable the BLOs to complete the house to house verification during the Special Drive being undertaken in the current special summary revision of electoral roll.
