ENCSU keeps agitation in abeyance Kohima, August 13 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has decided to keep in abeyance its second phase of agitation/action as per the request made by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Nagaland.  The decision was made during an emergency meeting convened on August 13 in Kohima regarding an appeal made by the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Temjen Toy against the ENCSU representation which was submitted to the Chief Minister on August 12, 2016. A press release from ENCSU Chairman, Longre Chang and Joint Secretary, Nokchem Angth stated that after thorough deliberation, the executives of ENCSU decided to keep the agitation in abeyance for 6 days (i.e. till August 19, 2016) for the Government to fulfill the demands mentioned in their ultimatum. However, ENCSU stated, if the State Government fails to address their genuine grievances within the stipulated time, “the Union will not attend any negotiation furthermore with the Govt. but will take its own course of action without any further notice.”   Appeal for Development Officers for tea growers of Nagaland Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): All Nagaland Small Tea Growers’ Association (ANSTGA) has requested the Tea Board of India to appoint separate Development Officers for the State of Nagaland to supervise the State’s tea growers/farmers at the office of the Tea Board of India in Jorhat, Assam. In a letter to the Executive Director, Tea Board of India, North East Zonal Office, Guwahati, ANSTGA highlighted that there are more than 1000 small tea growers/farmers in Nagaland. The letter was signed by ANSTGA Executive Chairman, N Lanu Lemtor and Advisor, Shami Angh.   CHK former president passes away Kohima, August 13 (MExN): Zhonyi Rhi, former president of Chakhesang Hoho Kohima passed away today. The send off service will be held on August 14 at 7:00 am at his residence in New Minister’s Hill, above Mohonkhola Bridge, Kohima.
