
Phek-Losami road cleared Phek, August 29 (MExN): The PWD road between Losami and Phek, which was blocked by heavy landslide since June 28, has been cleared with the initiative of Losami VDB and Deputy Commissioner, Phek. Various individuals and organisations contributed in the clearance work, informed a press release from Kezuwelo Akami, Village Council Chairman, Losami. It was stated that the landslide caused untold suffering to many travellers as all private vehicles, taxis and heavy truck ply on the said road. The same area was blocked with landside on August 3, 2015, the release added. Govt extends committee’s tenure Kohima, August 29 (DIPR): Government of Nagaland has extended the tenure of the committee constituted to examine 33% backward reservation and issue of Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate and Schedule Tribe Certificate to Tikhir till August 31, 2016. KNSK celebrates Foundation Day Mon, August 29 (DIPR): Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) celebrated its 30th Foundation Day on August 28 with SDO (C) Mon, Illika as the guest of honour at KNSK office, Mon. Addressing the gathering, the guest of honour congratulated the founding members of KNSK and also those leaders who have worked tirelessly and contributed towards KNSK over the years. She reminded that education is the key to everything and it needs to start from the family. In this regard, she requested the KNSK leaders to give extra effort to girl education and also urged the women to choose a capable leader and support each other to have a voice. She further encouraged the womenfolk to discover their inner capabilities, shine high and be stronger women. Refresher course on new pedagogy Kohima, August 29 (MExN): A teachers’ training – ‘Refresher course on new pedagogy’ – was organized by Trinity School, Kohima on August 27 at the school premises. The training was conducted by resource persons from DIET, Chiechama, namely Visedeü, Lecturer, Vikesenuo, Lecturer, Megoriano, Sr. Lecturer, and Kennyühule, Sr. Lecturer. The training was classified into four sessions (topics), Professional Ethics & Professional Growth, Mathematics Education, Science Education, and Proficiency in English. 40 teachers from Trinity School, Kohima and Nagaland Police Central School (NCPS) took part in the training. The programme was chaired by Vingosale, invocation prayer was pronounced by Matthew Tsathong, Headmaster, Trinity School. Kevin Solo, Administrator, Trinity School, delivered the opening remarks, while Kikruvonuo, Headmistress, NCPS, gave the closing remarks.
