SSU calls of agitation   Longleng, September 2 (MExN): Sakshi Students’ Union (SSU) has called off the ongoing agitation against absence of Math and Science teachers at Government High School, Sakshi. The agitation was called off following the redeployment of Chingshei (G/T) and Murtaza Husain (G/T) for the said posts, stated a press release from SSU President, Y Pongshi Phom and General Secretary, L Hongpa. The SSU expressed pleasure at the positive feedback of the Director of School Education. Meanwhile, it requested the two teachers to report to the school for regular duties on or before Septmber10. Failing to do so, SSU cautioned, it will continue its second phase of agitation. SSU also requested all its members and the general public of Sakshi to stick by the SSU discussion.   NSCN (R) expels one   Dimapur, September 2 (MExN): The NSCN/ GPRN (Reformation) has expelled Deputy Kilonser, Kuzoveyi Kezo from the national service with immediate effect for his “indulgence in anti-social activities which is against the National Yehzabo.” A press release from NSCN/GPRN (R) informed that Kuzoveyi was also involved in peddling of drugs and other “unwanted activities” among the workers. The NSCN/ GPRN (R) further informed the general public not to entertain Kuzoveyi under any circumstances for any purposes.   Guv extends Mongmong greetings   Kohima, September 2 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended warm greetings to the Sangtam community on the occasion of Mongmong festival 2016. Mongmong festival, he said in a message, “is an important time for the Sangtam community remembering all the context of life from individual to family and the society to thank the Almighty God and pray for a good health, prosperity and plenteous harvest in all fields of life.” Acharya wished that the festival brings peace and unity to all the Nagas, specially the Sangtam community, and also promote the spirit of love and forgiveness.   Ganja worth Rs. 5.5 lakh seized   Kohima, September 2 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel manning the Phesama check gate recovered 110 kg of contraband ganja worth Rs. 5.5 lakh from one Maruti Alto (silver color) bearing registration number NL05C-0611 on September 2 around 3:00 am. Accordingly, two persons identified as Dhan Bhadur and Elizabeth Karila were taken into police custody for possession and transportation of the contraband, informed a press release from SDPO (South) & PRO, Kohima Police. Meanwhile, a regular case vide Kohima South P.S Case No. 0052/2016 U/S 20 (b)(ii)(c) NDPS Act was registered against the arrested persons, who have been remanded into judicial custody.
