CRPF clarifies Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): With regard to the seizure of 1,100 kg of ganja by Kohima Police on September 4 from an LPG oil tanker, which was being escorted by a CRPF Battalion, Commandant 78 BN, CRPF has clarified that all civil/IOCL etc vehicles being escorted by the CRPF are handed over to CRPF by department concerned i.e., IOCL/FCI with an undertaking that no contraband items are being taken in any of the vehicles. CRPF has no authority to further check the escorted vehicles, the Commandant said in a clarification note. It stated that the vehicle caught on September 4 was not checked by department concerned, i.e., IOCL. School Education HoD informs Kohima, September 9 (MExN): Additional Director of School Education (HoD), Wothungo Tsopoe has informed all the Higher Secondary Cadre officers of School Education Department from Vice-Principal and above to submit the missing APAR during the period 2010-11 to 2014-15 for considering regularization of officiating promotion on or before September 17. The missing APARs for the mentioned period may be confirmed and submitted in Room No-37 of Higher Secondary Section of the Directorate of School Education, he added in a press release. KSU urges to fill vacant nurse posts Mon, September 9 (MExN): In support to the grievances highlighted by the Unemployed Trained Nurses Association, Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has pointed out that there is major lack of Staff Nurses in the various health centres in Mon district, “which is against the INC norms and it is causing immense problem to the working staffs due to lack of manpower.” Therefore, KSU through its President, Loungai Wangnao and General Secretary, Mantong Konyak has appealed to the department concerned to rectify the anomalies and fill up all the 33 vacant posts under the INC norms at various places as allotted at the earliest. Dimapur Police arrest bike lifter Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): Keeping surveillance on unknown bike lifters, Dimapur Police arrested one person from Marwaripatti area, Dimapur at around 8:00 pm on September 7 when he was driving away with a stolen bike. The arrested person has been identified as Awoto Awomi, informed a press release from ADCP/PRO, Dimapur Police. Two keys were also seized from his possession pre-supposedly used for such crimes, the release added. A case is under investigation at the Sub Urban Police Station.
