Mon, March 14 (MExN): In pursuance of the directives given by the Election Commission of India and the consequent announcement of the parliamentary election 2014, Deputy Commissioner Mon has directed all Arms holders under Mon district to submit the licensed Arms mandatorily to the respective police stations on or before March 24 without fail. The DC cautioned that defaulters would be penalized as per appropriate section of the law.
DC Dimapur warns against bribery
Dimapur, March 14 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Dimapur, in view of the forth coming election, has informed the general public that any offer of cash, liquor, gift items or free food to the electors during election process is bribe. Both the persons offering and accepting such bribe are liable for punishment with imprisonment up to one year and fine. Flying squads and surveillance teams have been formed to keep watch over such activities and to check movement of items meant for inducement of electors during the process. Any public may inform such incidents of bribe to the Monitoring Control Room at 03862-248975.
DC Peren directs to deposit arms
Peren, March 14 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & DEO Peren, Peter Lichamo in an order issued in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2014 has directed all the Licensed Arms holders under Peren district to deposit their weapons with immediate effect in the nearest Police Station for safe custody till the process of election is over.

Wokha, March 14 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Wokha, Vyasan R has informed all concerned that the 2nd & 3rd round of training for the Presiding Officers and First Polling Officials will be held on March 27 and April 4 respectively at 10:00 am at Government Higher Secondary School Wokha. Kohima, March 14 (MExN): Strongly supporting the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (NSSATA), the Rengma Students’ Union has appealed the Education Department to release all the pending salaries of the SSA teachers as it is the only source of income for the teachers to make ends meet and they rightly deserve to be paid on time. A press release appended by the union president Zapi Kath stated that RSU took the matter with serious concern as the Government Schools were affected owing to boycotting of classes by SSA teachers “besides the future of thousands students were at stake if the issues were not solved.” The RSU further appealed the Department of School Education to address the issue sincerely and solve the problem before the prevailing situation went irreparable.
