Kohima Police nabs two for extortion

Kohima, August 22 (MExN): Kohima police arrested two highway extortionists at NH-29 near Old KMC dumping site on August 21, the PRO DEF Kohima informed on Saturday. 
The two persons, identified as Zhoviho Hibo (32 yrs) of Khuzama village and Joseph Konyak (29 yrs) of Tanyu village, were apprehended while extorting from a truck driver. The two reportedly snatched away the driver’s wallet containing Rs 2,000 along with two mobile phones, according to the police.
In this connection a case has been registered at Sechü (Zübza) police station for further investigation, police said. 

NSCN/GPRN (K) cautions against ‘mushrooming dubious goons’

Dimapur, August 22(MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (K) on Saturday issued a statement regarding issues relating to Dimapur ‘taxation’.
In a statement issued by Major General Akaho Zhimo, Commander of the Western Division, People’s Army of Nagaland (PAN), the NSCN/GPRN (K) said that the clarification was related to ‘mushrooming dubious goons’ pretending to be the NCSN/GPRN (K). It warned the public not to entertain any individual except duly authorized personnel.
Those dealing with unauthorized persons without verification from the authorized personnel would be doing so at their own risk and be deemed null and void, the NSCN/GPRN stated.

AKIDA acknowledges 

Kohima, August 22 (MExN): The All Kohima Indane Distributors Association (AKIDA) on Saturday acknowledged the Kohima Police, District Executive Force (DEF), District Intelligence Branch (DIB) and colony youth leaders of Merhülietsa, and Paramedical Colony, Kohima for arresting all those involved in the assault of LPG Truck drivers in July. 
AKIDA President and General Secretary issued a statement appreciating the efforts of the agencies and said that all of the “arrested hard core criminals” have been booked under appropriate sections of law.    

NSCN (IM) suspends ‘Law and Order Team’

Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on August 22 notified that the ‘Law and Order Team’ has been suspended. In a press statement from the MIP, the NSCN (IM) said that the Team which was initiated by the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, GPRN to enforce surveillance over illicit trade and business would stand suspended until further notice/order. “No person is authorized to deal in such case without the knowledge of the Kilo Ministry,” the NSCN (IM) stated, while cautioning that strict action would be taken against any person who deliberately defies the order.
