3RD TSUD Union Assembly on Nov 4

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur (TSUD) has informed all bonafide executives under the aegis of the TSUD to attend its 3rd Union Assembly meet on November 4 at 3 pm at Tenyimi Complex, Dimapur.  A special invitation has also been extended to the union advisors, senior leaders, representatives of TSUD and well wishers. All delegates have been requested to attend with traditional attire.

KASU condemns

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): The Kuhuboto Area Students' Union (KASU) has expressed sadness at the demise of Aboto Achumi after he was hit by an over speeding government registered vehicle where the other person was critically injured. The Government registered vehicle (Bolero) registration number NL-10-C-0749 was operated by two unauthorised individuals while in an inebriated state, a press release from the union stated. “This incident took place under circumstances that demand a just response from the authorities as it pose a serious offense to The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988,- section 3, 39 and 181,” it stated and urges the authorities to look into this case and ensure that a thorough and impartial investigation takes place. Justice must be sensed, and those responsible for this incident should be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law, it added. 


ENSF condemns ‘illegal extortion’

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) has condemned the October 29 incident regarding a case of “illegal extortion perpetrated by a group at unscrupulous individuals within the railway parcel premises at Railway Station Dimapur. A press release from the ENSF said that on that day, the Naga Farmers Group had been in the process of booking 1 ton of arecanut at the railway parcel counter. “It is essential to underscore that the Naga Fanners Group had procured the aceranuts from the Nagaland Slate Agri Marketing Board, Government of Nagaland,” it informed. However, it stated that this group of 5-6 individuals, “dubiously identifying themselves as representatives of the ‘Agency’ unlawfully intervened by coercing railway officials to cease the booking process, insisting that all purchases must he exclusively and strictly channeled and booked through them.” “They forcibly seized the parcels and audaciously demanded a penalty of Rs 2 lakh, equivalent to the parcel's value,” it added. The ENSF informed that an FIR has been registered at the GRPS Dimapur and urged the law enforcing agency to look into the matter at the earliest and book the perpetrators.

GPRN/NSCN condoles

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has expressed grief over the demise of Political Organiser Ravi Chetri on October 23. Hailing from Singrijan village, Khopanala (Gorkha Region, late Chetri enrolled in the service in February  2007 and served for the national cause till his demise, informed condolence message from the MIP GPRN/NSCN. “The GPRN/NSCN conveys deepest condolence to the bereaved family members and prays to the Almighty to grant peace and solace during their time of great loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added. 

Kohima Town GB Union elects new team

Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The Kohima Town GB Union has elected new team of office bearers for the tenure 2023-2028. The new team is headed by Ketoulelie Dzüvichü as the president. Other officials include; Nitovi Swu-vice president, Abraham Semy-general secretary, Medochülie Khezhie-joint secretary, Ruokuovilhou Belho-treasurer, Videho Lüho-finance secretary, Keyielie Miachie-o-information and publicity secretary and Visalie Kelio as advisor. The election of the new team was done during its general body meeting held on October 28, 2023 at G.B Union Hall, Daklane, Kohima Town. The union vice president Visalie Kelio chaired the meeting while its general secretary Toulelie Dzüvichü and treasurer Adelie Suohu presented their respective reports.

Medical board exam for service confirmation 

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur has informed that the Medical Board Examination for service confirmation for government employees, Grd-III & Grd-IV staff under Dimapur District, will be held on November 18, 2023 at CMO Conference Hall Dimapur. Therefore, any government servant who are not confirmed to the post and want to sit for Medical Board should submit their names before the above mentioned dates with forwarding letter signed by the Head of the Department, the CMO in a notification informed.

NLA Speaker convenes meeting

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): NLA Speaker and Chairman of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), Sharingain Longkumer has convened a meeting of the BAC on November 4 at 12:00 P.M in the Committee Room, Assembly Secretariat to finalise the Provisional Programme for the Third Session (Emergent Session) of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly scheduled to commence from November 9. This was informed in a press release issued by the Assembly Secretariat. 

NSCN (IM) MRA conducts Naga National Prayer Day

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MRA), NSCN/GPRN organised a one day Naga National Prayer Day on October 31 at Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. The MRA informed that the prayer was for repentance and forgiveness and to seek blessing and guidance from God for the Naga nation, national leaders and people. Hundreds of the national workers of both civil and military setups led by the President, Ato Kilonser and other top officials attended the service. In line with the program organised by the MRA, the pray day was observed in all 24 the NSCN/GPRN regions with mass participation of Naga national workers. In Dimapur, the prayer service was led by the director, staff and counsellors of Emmanuel Prayer Centre who also shared anointing messages from the Bible.
