Search committee for Lokayukta formed

Kohima, August 3 (MExN): A search committee comprising the Chief Secretary and Advocate General of Nagaland has been constituted to identify candidates to be considered for appointment as Lokayukta Nagaland. According to an update from the state DIPR on Tuesday, the committee has been constituted in pursuance of Section 3(2) of the Nagaland Lokayukta Act, 2017 and Section 3 Sub- Section 2 (ii) of the Nagaland Lokayukta (Amendment) Act, 2019, Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department.

NNC/FGN to celebrate 75th Nagaland Independence Day

Kohima, August 3 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) at Central level along with Angami Region will celebrate the 75th Nagaland Independence Day on August 14 at 10: 00 am at Kohima. NNC/FGN Rali Wali Kilonser in a press release has requested all the NNC/FGN central authorities, Angami Regional Authorities and eligible top Naga Army officers to participate on the occasion. Meanwhile, all Regional Midan Peyus, FGN and Regional presidents, NNC are informed to celebrate the 75th Nagaland Independence Day in their respective Regions, Sub-Regions and Villages, as instructed earlier by the Centre, in accordance with their conveniences.

NSCN (IM) mourns Sentimenba Jamir

Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the demise of Sentimenba Jamir, Tatar of NSCN/GPRN on August 2. Sentimenba hailed from Wamaken village under Ao Region and he joined the Naga national service in 2003. “He served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and he shall be remembered for all time to come,” MIP NSCN (M) stated. It conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and also prayed for the soul to rest in peace.
