
Committee on petition meeting on November 24
Kohima, November 6 (MExN): MLA and Chairman of the Committee on Petition, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Toyang Chang, has convened a meeting of the Committee on November 24 at 11:00 am in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. All members of the Committee have been requested to attend the meeting as scheduled.
DC Kohima informs on COVID-19 ex-gratia
Kohima, November 6 (MExN): In pursuance of the Court Judgment dated on October 30 and NSDMA letter on October 18, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed the concerned next of kin of the deceased due to COVID-19 that ex-gratia forms (Annexure -A) and checklist of required documents can be availed from DDMA Cell Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima during office hours.
Governor greets Lotha community
Kohima, November 6 (MExN): Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam and Nagaland extended Tokhü Emong greetings to all the people of Nagaland, and especially to the Lotha community.
“This beautiful festival represents the rich cultural heritage of our people. It is a post-harvest festival and the people rejuvenate through the celebrations after a period of tremendous hard work in the field,” the Governor’s message read.
Stating that Tokhü Emong signifies ending of all bitterness and strengthening the familial and social bonding, the Governor also added that it is a celebration of unity and gratitude and urged to always uphold these rich cultural legacies.
“May this auspicious occasion bring good health, peace and prosperity,” he wrote.
NSCN-K (Niki group) conveys Tokhu Emong greeting
Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Niki group) on Saturday extended greetings to the Lotha community on the occasion of Tokhu Emong.
As the Lotha community celebrate the festival with thanksgiving giving and with colourful dances and folk songs, the NSCN/GPRN wish the community prosperity and a bright future, a statement from the group’s MIP read.
“May the festival be an occasion to strengthen unity and brotherhood not only among the community members but to all Naga community,” it added.
