Ahuna greetings from Nagaland Governor

Kohima, November 13 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan has extended Ahuna greetings to my Sumi brothers and sisters as they celebrate this festival.  Ahuna is a traditional post-harvest festival of the Sumi Nagas and it signifies the celebration of the season’s harvest in thanksgiving while invoking the spirit for good harvest fortune in the New Year. “It is a festival of Joy for the completion of a successful harvest season and sharing of feast. I believe that this festival’s spirit of oneness and bonding would restore our faith and lead us towards peace and prosperity. On this occasion, I wish you all happiness and good health. God Bless Nagaland!” the Governor greeted in a message.

 

Dy CM greets on Ahuna Festival

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has greeted the Sumi community on the occasion of Ahuna. Patton said that the post harvest festival is a great time for merry making and thanksgiving. It is also a time for coming together to showcase their beautiful folk dances and folk music to mark the unity. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM through its media cell conveyed festive greetings and prayed that it is celebrated everywhere in a grand manner.

 

NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) greets on Ahuna festival

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has conveyed greetings on the occasion of Ahuna festival of the Sumi Nagas observed on November 14, coinciding with Children’s Day, which is a post harvest festival for offering thanksgiving and gratitude for the bountiful year. While this festival is displayed in exuberant Cultural activities, one of the main highlights of this festival is the grand Procession of the 'Mithun' which signifies the social prosperity and another major highlights is to cook freshly harvested rice in the 'Bamboo Pole' and shared, the MIP stated in a press note. “With this Ahuna festival may our Sumi brothers and sisters continue to prosper and also be the guiding force in strength, unity and social bonding,” it added.

 

Joint spot inspection of Dimapur bypass, NH

Chümoukedima, November 13 (MExN):  In supersession of an earlier order dated November 10, the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima Abhinav Shivam IAS has informed that a joint spot inspection of Dimapur bypass (Nagaland Portion) and Dimapur-Kohima 4 Lane National Highway (PKG I & II) is re-scheduled on November 15at 11:00 am. The inspection will be conducted along with other officials including DC Chümoukedima; Revenue Officer, Chümoukedima; General Manager (P), PMU-Dimapur, NHIDCL; DPRO, Chümoukedima; Authority's Engineer; General Manager; EPC Contractor. The officials have been requested to be present for the said inspection. “The joint inspection team shall assemble at Patkai junction and proceed for spot inspection,” the DC order Chümoukedima stated.
