Nagaland logs 114 new COVID cases, positivity rate at 6.62%

Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The daily COVID-19 positivity rate in Nagaland on Wednesday was at 6.62% with 114 out of 1,721 samples testing positive on July 28. According to the Health and Family Welfare department, the new cases were detected from Dimapur (30), Kiphire (1), Kohima (37), Mokokchung (25), Mon (8), Peren (2), Phek (1), Tuensang (9) and Zunheboto (1). With the detection of the new cases, the total caseload increased to 27,586. The State also reported 75 recoveries, taking the total recovery to 24,910. Meanwhile, 2 more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours from Dimapur, taking the death toll in the State to 538, as per the COVID-19 bulletin issued by the department. At present, there are 1,250 active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland, out of which 96 are admitted in the COVID hospitals and 1,201 under home isolation. 

DC Kohima informs on unauthorised night parking 

Kohima, July 28 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has informed that vehicles parked overnight in the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, Kohima without valid night parking permits issued by the competent authority, will be towed away with effect from August 1. This was informed in a press release issued through the state DIPR on Wednesday.

Noklak DC transferred

Noklak, July 28 (MExN): The Nagaland government’s department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) on July 28 notified the transfer of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Noklak, Reny Wilfred who is to be posted as Joint Secretary of the Home Department, in place of Hiazu Meru, who has been posted as the new DC of Noklak.

NSCN (R) extends greetings

Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The NSCN (Reformation) extended warm greetings to the Chang Nagas on occasion of Naknyulem—a major festival of the Chang community which falls between July 29 and 31. In a message issued through its MIP, the NSCN (R) stated that the Chang people are known for their “brave and strong mindset and yet, very simplistic in nature.” May this festival bring about all the good things in life to our Chang brothers and sisters and may they also continue to thrive and be the channel of peace and unity, the message read.
