Free anti rabies vaccination in Kohima
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The District Veterinary Office, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Kohima is organizing a free anti rabies vaccination cum health care camp at the Veterinary Hospital, Kohima on August 15 in commemoration of 75th India Independence Day. The programme will start from 9:00 AM onwards and continue till 1:00 PM. All dogs and livestock owners have been invited to avail the facilities.
National flag rally race in Kohima
Kohima, Aug 12 (MExN): Nagaland Police is organizing a National Flag Rally Race in commemoration of 75th anniversary of India Independence as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration on August 14 in Kohima. The rally race is scheduled to start from 6:00 AM from Secretariat Plaza and culminate near PHQ, Kohima, followed by a celebratory programme at 8:00 AM at PHQ main lobby. Nagaland’s DGP T. John Longkumer will speak on the occasion.
Team Sovima 21-26 calls on PHED minister
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): Team Sovima 21-26 paid a courtesy call on PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi this morning at his residential office and apprised him of the various issues faced by the village, especially water scarcity in dry season, and urged him to take up measures to ameliorate the matter. The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured to urgently look into the matter. He also apprised the Team about various developmental activities he had initiated in the area like construction of roads with the blessings of Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
World Photography Day in Kohima
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): Alongwith the rest of the world, the World Photography Day will be observed in Kohima on August 19 under the aegis of Team Noksa. The event will witness photo exhibition, showcasing the works of photographers in Kohima. Limawati Ao, Retd Director, DIPR, Nagaland will grace the occasion. It will take place at D’Café, Jail Colony, Kohima from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Nagaland: State level committee on AIDS
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): As part of the celebration to commemorate 75 years of Independence Day and as per the directives of National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), awareness campaign in three phases are being planned by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society. These are aimed at online engagement and mobilities of minimum 50 students per schools and college for 25 schools and 25 colleges. For implementation of the campaign, a State Level Committee has been constituted with the following members: Chairperson-Principal Secretary, H&FW; Vice-Chairperson-Project Director, NSACS; Convener-Joint Director, IEC, NSACS; Member Secretary-Assistant Director, Youth, NSACS. The members include representative from the Department of School Education, SCERT, NBSE, Higher Education, Technical Education, Department of Youth Resources and Sports (NYKS, NSS, NCC, Bharat Scout & Guides), Social Welfare Department, State Programme officer of National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), State Blood Transfusion Council, HFW; Department of Information and Public Relation; All India Radio Kohima; Doordarshan Kendra Kohima; Press Information Bureau (PIB). In this regard, a meeting will be held on August 19 at 12:30 PM in the Conference hall of H&FW Department, Nagaland Civil Secretariat. Therefore, all concerned have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting positively, informed a DIPR report.
Academic session at Degree College Wakching
only after creation of minimum required post
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): Nagaland’s Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along said that the department will be in position to start the first academic session at New Model Degree College, Wakching under Mon district only after the state government sanction approval for creation of the proposed minimum required post for appointment.
Replying this to MLA YM Yollow Konyak at the recently concluded 8th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, the minister stated that New Model Degree College Wakching, was constructed under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shikshsha Abhiyan (RUSA) under RUSA 1.0. The department proposes to introduce B.Sc. programmes in the subject of Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics with English as elective subject at the undergraduate level. Taking into consideration the urgent need to start the academic session for the newly constructed Model College, Wakching, the department has submitted a proposal to the state government requesting for creation of 69 post. 1- principal, 20 assistant professors, 1 librarian and 47h non teaching supporting staff.
After examining the proposal, the department of P & AR, has written back to the department on July 5 seeking for further clarification/justification and for resubmission of proposal. Along said that the department is working on it for resubmission of the proposal with required information to the state government for consideration on top priority.
