
Asuto GBs Association asks PHED not to entertain RTIs on JJM scheme
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 20 (MExN): The Asuto GBs Association has written to the Executive Engineer, Zunheboto Division asking him and the department “not to entertain any kind of queries and RTI from any individual or groups” with regard to the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme. The letter from the association said that all the 19 villages it represents have benefitted from the scheme “where every household is connected with water supply.” It thanked the Nagaland Government and particularly the department (not specified in the press release), but the JJM comes under the PHED, for “successful implementation and completion of the scheme.
Landowners Pattadars Forum issues notice for document submission
Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The Landowners Pattadars Forum has called on its members whose lands are occupied by the army in Dimapur town to submit photocopies of key land documents for verification. In a press release issued today, the forum’s president, K Thong, stated that the directive follows a letter from the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur dated December 18. Members are required to provide copies of their jamabandi, land revenue receipts, and other relevant documents for cross-checking. The deadline for submission is January 10, 2025. The forum emphasized that it would not be held responsible for any consequences arising from non-compliance. Documents can be submitted to Dr LA Kikon (7005053101), Vizolie Angami (8974452812), or Ajao Kense, the forum's secretary (7627987707).
Mokokchung DC informs
Mokokchung, December 20 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has issued a notification regarding the application for recognition of Kangtsung Rongpang Meyiterlen Village. The village falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tuli, within the Tuli Sub-Division of Mokokchung District.
According to the notification, objections, if any, regarding the recognition of the village must be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mokokchung within 30 days of the issuance of the notice. In the absence of objections within the stipulated period, the matter will be treated as having no objection and forwarded to the government for further necessary action.
The village encompasses an area of 1,023 acres, equivalent to 4,139,934.2 square meters. Its boundaries are defined as follows: to the north, it borders Wamaken Village, while the east, west, and south boundaries adjoin Kangtsung Village.
FGN extends Christmas greetings
Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The Kedahge (President) of the Federal Government of Nagaland, Gen. (Retd.) Viyalie Metha, has extended Christmas and New Year greetings to all citizens, national workers, and Nagas residing at home and abroad.
In his message, Metha emphasized the essence of Christmas as a time to share joy, peace, and harmony with family, friends, and church communities. He called on everyone to open their hearts to Jesus Christ and reflect on His teachings of love and compassion.

NDPP mourns
Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has expressed sorrow over the passing of Dielepuü Metha, the grandmother of NDPP Secretary General, Abu Metha.
In a statement, NDPP President Chingwang Konyak highlighted the legacy of Dielepuü, who lived to be a centenarian, emphasizing the love, prayers, devotion, and sacrifices she exemplified. "Her success is reflected in the achievements of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren," Konyak said.Acknowledging the difficulty of bidding farewell to a cherished family member, the statement noted that Mrs. Dielepuü had lived a long and fulfilling life and is now in the presence of God. The NDPP extended heartfelt condolences to Abu Metha and the bereaved family, praying for comfort and strength during this time of loss.
"May her soul rest in eternal peace," Konyak added, on behalf of the NDPP family.
