
NSCN (IM) mourns
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today mourned the demise of several of its members who passed away recently and issued condolences to the families of the bereaved. A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) expressed sadness at the passing away of Sakka, Razou Peyu of Maram Thangal CAA, GPRN who died on December 14 due to illness; Yehovi Chophi, Tatar of UT-1, GPRN, Assistant Chaplain of UT-1, who died on December 16 due to illness; and Wangpa Phom, Razou Peyu of Phom Region, GPRN who died on December 17 due to illness. “NSCN/GPRN is deeply indebted for their dedicated services and their spirit of sacrifices for the cause of Naga political issue. Certainly, their names would be recorded in the pages of Naga history. We express heartfelt condolences to their families and close friends, and it is our prayers that God give them the strength and comfort to bear the loss,” the NSCN (IM) added.
Yajang C Village JDU unit resigns from party, joins Cong
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Yajang C Village unit of the JDU, under Alongtaki Assembly Constituency, led by its Unit President Temjentoshi Jamir; General Secretary Kimasungba Ozukum and Treasurer Imtionen Aier along with 123 households, with voters numbering about 650, had a general meeting on December 11. A press release from the NPCC Communications Department informed that the meeting unanimously resolved to “resign from the JDU and join the Congress Party en masse under the leadership of the PCC President S Supongmeren Jamir.”
