
Nagaland State Helicopter Service requisitioned for election
Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State Transport (NST) has informed that the State Helicopter Service will be requisitioned on standby from February 17 to March 2, in connection with the general elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly scheduled on February 27. Stating this in a press release on Tuesday, NST Additional General Manager Shikaho P Yeptho requested all concerned to bear with the inconvenience.
Govt declares Feb 27 paid holiday
Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Election Day in Nagaland, February 27, has been declared a ‘paid holiday’ to enable the voters to exercise their franchise during the Assembly elections. In accordance with Section 35B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, this includes all the employees of the government, PSUs, banks, financial institutions, industrial undertakings, private and all the business establishments including shops, as well as daily wage/casual workers and also those electors working outside the Constituency concerned. “However, this shall not apply to any elector whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in respect of the employment in which he is engaged,” stated a press release from the state DIPR.
Nagaland schools advised against fake offers for Skill Development Courses
Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has issued a notice cautioning heads of all schools in Nagaland against fraudulent Skill Development Courses being offered at subsidized rates/MSPs in the name of PMO compliances. In a notice issued on Tuesday, Principal Director, DoSE Thavaseelan K informed that an organization, through the email-ID contact@skillkiclass.com has been involved in defrauding schools across the country by offering Skill Development Courses being offered at subsidized rates/MSPs. “In this regard, it is clarified that the Ministry of Education, Government of India or the Department of School Education, Nagaland has not issued any such directive,” the notice stated. Accordingly, the Principal Director cautioned the heads of all schools, government and private, not to fall prey to such emails. Further, if any school has received such emails and made payment, the matter may be immediately reported to the DoSE for initiating necessary action against the fraudsters as per law, it added.
ABCC CEM CC calls special prayer for Angami candidates
Kohima, February 14 (MExN): The Angami Baptist Church Council, Clean Election Core Committee ABCC CEM CC held a special prayer for all the Angami candidates contesting in the upcoming general elections on February 14. ABCC CEM CC Media Cell in a press release stated that the event was held at Rivenburg Memorial Hall, Mission Compound. All the ordained ministers under the council were invited to offer blessings upon them. Out of 15 candidates 11 of them attended the service. Rev Dr Rachülie Vihienuo, Executive Director, ABCC exhorted the congregation with the Word of God. Pastor, Atuo Whuorie, Convener ABCC CC, the chair highlighted the intention of the Church and the Clean Election Movement. The programme culminated with a mass spoken prayer.
Tovihoto to prioritise peace, harmony and development
Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Gearing up the election campaign, the BJP candidate of 1 Dimapur-I Assembly Constituency, H Tovihoto Ayemi, accompanied by his supporters and party workers held meeting at municipal wards 3 and 4 covering UNB-A, UNB-B, Jasokie, Sunrise, Rainbow, Paira, Chungaizaeng, Ragailong, Banjak Phom, Northern Angami, Rengma, Sumi, Chakhesang and Zeliang colonies under the two wards.
In a press release, reiterating that peace, harmony and development of the people have always been his priority, Ayemi said that he will continue to endeavour for the same even in the days to come. Stating that everything is possible when there is unity and togetherness among the people, he called upon the people of Dimapur-I AC to come together and exercise their franchise by means of free and fair election and elect to power the party.
He also hailed the BJP-NDPP alliance with an assurance that the alliance will do more for the people of Nagaland. Ward leaders and party workers also spoke during the campaign.
Professional training course for Hindi teachers
Kohima, February 14 (MExN): Untrained Hindi Teachers (UGHT/GHT) serving under the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) Nagaland, appointed after September 2001 have been invited to apply for undergoing full term Professional Training Course Hindi Shikshan Nishnat, Hindi Shikshan Parangat, Hindi Shikshan Praveen (Academic Session 2023-2025) conducted by Central Institute of Hindi Agra. In this regard, all the In-Service Untrained Hindi Teachers are to apply for offline admission, stated a DIPR report. The hard copy with complete self-attested relevant documents along with a forwarding letter from the concerned DEO/SDEO has to be submitted at CIH Agra Dimapur Centre Room No.2 on or before February 25. Kohima, February 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State Council of Educational Research and Training has notified all the schools in Nagaland following SCERT Curriculum and Syllabus, that the Curriculum and Syllabus for the coming academic year 2023 have been revised for Pre- Primary & Elementary level. Therefore, all the schools in Nagaland following SCERT Curriculum may refer to the revised version. HSLC, HSSLC exams Centre Superintendents virtual meeting
Kohima, February 14 (MExN): All concerned have been informed that a virtual meeting for Centre Superintendents of HSLC and HSSLC Examination Centres 2023 has been convened on February 21 at 1:00 pm to discuss the role and responsibilities of the Centre Superintendents, rules and regulations for conduct of examinations and examination related matters. All the Centre Superintendents are requested to attend the meeting positively. The meeting ID and Passcode of the webinar shall be shared later in the Centre Superintendents WhatsApp group, stated a DIPR report.
