Dimapur Excise recovers IMFL; one arrested

Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning Newfield Checkgate recovered 1,000 cases of assorted IMFL and arrested one person in this connection. According to a press release from Dimapur Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition Tokuho Assumi, at around 9:00pm on February 26, the Excise team led by Tonika Awomi, AIE, Kavito H/C, constables Lithrichum, Jungshi, Akho, Chingjei, Leihong, Vikaho, Haotinmang and Kiyerangzaile, based on an intelligence tip-off, intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing registration number AS 01KC 6831. On frisking the vehicle the duty party recovered 1,000 cases of assorted IMFL, it said. In this connection, one Babu Tokbi (22), a resident of Tokbi Gaon, in West Karbi Anglong District, Assam was arrested and the case is presently under further investigation, the release stated.

Shiva Mandir Committee informs

Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): The Shiva Mandir Committee, Singrijan has informed that the Maha Shiva Ratri Utsav will be celebrated on March 1 at Shiva Mandir, Singrijan with full adherence to COVID-19 SOPs issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur. This was informed in a press release from the Secretary of the committee Purna Thapa on Sunday. 

Committee on subordinate legislation meeting

Kohima, February 27 (MExN): Dr Chotisuh Sazo, Chairman, Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, has convened a meeting of the Committee on March 3 at 11.00 am in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. Members of the Committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.

District level students’ science exhibition held in Kohima 

Kohima, February 27 (MExN): The District Education Office (DEO), Kohima under the aegis of the Directorate of School Education conducted the district level students’ science exhibition 2022 on the theme, ‘Science and technology for sustainable development’ on February 24 virtually. A total of 10 schools competed for the top three positions. The competition was judged by Neizetuonuo, District Education Officer, Kohima, Teisovi Gerard Meyase, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, and Sabul Rhetso, Area Education Officer, SDEO Kohima declared the results. The winners were Rajshekhar Kumar Prasad (class 10) of Fernwood School, Lulu Nienu (class 9) of Minister’s Hill Baptist HSSS and Jentiren (class 8) of Bethel HSSS in the first, second and third positions respectively.
