NZP closed on January 31

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) will remain closed to visitors on January 31. A press release from NZP stated that it will be closed in view of the on-going two-day workshop on ‘safe handling, care, and rehabilitation of commonly seized wildlife’ on January 30 and 31 at Nagaland Zoological Park by Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS-India).

Ban on slaughter of pigs at Botsa lifted

Botsa, January 30 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C has in a supersession order lift the ban imposed on the slaughter of pigs, import/export of live pigs/piglets/pork in the Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones (ASF) at Botsa village is lifted with immediate effect. The DC in a DIPR report stated that the ban has been lifted in view of elapse of three months time period since the detection of the first case of African Swine Fever and having followed the protocol of 'National Action Plan' for control, Containment, and Eradication of ASF laid down by Government of India and with no further report of a new outbreak.

GBs under Kohima Sadar notified on tax

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C has in a circular informed all the concerned Gaon Buras under Kohima Sadar Areas to submit the Annual House Tax for the year 2022-2023 to the Deputy Commissioner's Office on or before February 25. The circular further informed that the house tax has to be collected by the concerned GBs and submit as per the notice served.

NDPP Kohima President resigns 

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The NDPP Kohima Region, President, Avio Tetso has rendered resignation letter from his post, and also from primary and active membership of NDPP. Tetso in his resignation letter addressed to the president of NDPP thanked all the senior leaders and colleagues of the Kohima Region (NDPP) and all other ranks and files of the party and acknowledge their contribution and cooperation during his tenure as president. 

NSCN/GPRN (YA) informs 

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): In the recent portfolio reshuffle within the NSCN/GPRN (YA), lmti Imchen, Kilonser has been allocated the portfolio of Public Relation and NGOs. The MIP NSCN/GPRN (YA) in a press release stated that “with immediate effect from today all Naga tribal councils, civil societies, apex organizations and student bodies” are informed of the reshuffle.  

AR small arms firing from Feb 1 to 28

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C has in a circular informed the general public of all the villages, Ward Panchayat/ Colony under Kohima town not to enter the firing range and not take their cattle grazing near the firing range as the Assam Rifles will be conducting small arms firing with effect from February 1 to 20 at Firing Range Kohima Garrison.
