NSCN (IM) directs oil pumps, fuel stations

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Friday said it has come to their notice that “many of the oil pumps/fuel stations across Nagalim are not providing or maintaining the mandatory basic amenities like free air filling machine and washroom/toilets.” It has also been observed that washrooms and toilets are left in unhygienic and untidy conditions which pose a serious health hazard, stated an update issue by MIP, NSCN (IM). “This calls for NSCN to issue this directive to all oil pumps/fuel stations to renovate/construct and maintain it to the level for public convenience at the earliest. Failing to comply with this directive shall invite undesirable consequences,” it stated.

NNC/FGN terminates one

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN):  The Kedahge (supreme commander) NNC/FGN has served a ‘Termination Ahza to Lieut Gen Kukuyo Veswuh Dy Commander in Chief Naga Army for violation of the Naga Army Rules and Regulation chapter 14 section 4 which is of highest offence against the Government.’ “Further, his rank, awards and assignment designated by the Government have been revoked,” Gen Retd TM Rhakho, Kedahge, FGN stated in a press release.

72nd PSC sports meet culminates

Longleng, January 17 (MExN): The 72nd Phom Student Conference Sports Meet concluded on January 17. This event held at the public ground in Longleng, brought together students from across the region to compete in various sports, celebrating unity through athletic excellence, stated a DIPR report. The valedictory ceremony was attended by B Bangtick Phom, MLA and Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board, Longleng. He addressed the gathering and commended the participants for their unwavering dedication and sportsmanship. He also emphasised the importance of such events in fostering teamwork, discipline, and the holistic development of students.

Dy CM Y Patton mourns demise of RS Jamir

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): Dy CM Y Patton has condoled the death of Rongsenshilu Jamir IPS (Retd), the first Naga IGP and recipient of President's Police medal for Meritorious Service on January 17. Patton said that late Rongsen was a pioneering officer in the police department after Nagaland got statehood.  His devotion to duties and service to the society will be honoured and remembered.  On behalf of the police department, the Dy CM conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace, the Media Cell of Dy CMO stated.

DC Zbto informs on restrictions of vehicular movements

Zunheboto, January 17 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS through a circular has informed all concerned that bituminous work of NH 702A between Assam Rifle gate and Asukhomi village will commence from January 19. In this regard, plying of all heavy vehicles is restricted from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM till the completion of the said work. However, light and medium vehicles will be allowed to ply normally.

NITI Dimapur offers free coaching

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): NITI Dimapur Center at Marwari Patti has offered free coaching for Science and Mathematics through its IITian faculties for the benefit of the Board Examinees & NEET & JEE Repeaters from January 18 to March 8. There are limited seats on offer on the basis of ‘First Come First Served.’ “NITI Dimapur has kept all days open for the benefit of Class XI & XII students so that maximum students can take the advantage of this offer for better results of all the examinees,” Ajay Sethi, MD, NITI Nagaland informed in a press release.
