
DPC mourns passing of Suhoje Kiho
Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) has mourned the passing of Suhoje Kiho, the father of DPC’s Information and Publicity Secretary, Kanili Kiho. He passed away on Monday evening at hospital in Dimapur after a brief illness. In this time of grief, the DPC extended its heartfelt condolences to Kanili and her entire family. The club hoped they find strength and solace in cherished memories. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family during this difficult period,” a spokesperson for the DPC stated. “The DPC stands in solidarity with them, offering support and comfort in any way possible. May the soul of the departed rest in peace,” it added.
DDMA Tuensang emergency meeting held
Tuensang, JULY 29 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority Tuensang held an emergency meeting at ADC Chamber Tuensang on July 29. The meeting was chaired by Thungchanbemo, ADC Tuensang. In the meeting Temsuwangshi Jamir Nodal Officer DDMA Tuensang gave a detailed report on the Relief Camp to setup at Chongpou Khel Tuensang Village local Ground for the effected families persons the of Phenjang sector and NST Sector landslide. In the meeting work distribution was discussed among the core team.
KDAA to observe Javelin Day
Kohima, July 29 (MExN): In pursuance to the notification of the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) to commemorate the remarkable achievement of Neeraj Chopra during the Tokyo Olympics, the Kohima District Athletic Association (KDAA) today informed that the Association will be celebrating Javelin Day alongwith the rest of the country on August 9. The Association will be organizing an event on Javelin Day. The event will be only Javelin for both Boys/Girls for the category U-12, U-14 & U-16. Prizes for the top 3 winners will be sponsored by Nagaland Athletics Association. Registration will be online system with a fee of Rs.100. ALIMCO one day assessment camp held at Chen Town
DIMAPUR, JULY 28 (MExN): With an aim to empower and to develop the availability, use, supply and distribution of artificial limbs and other aids to Divyangjan/Persons with Disability (PwDs), Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) in collaboration with Mon District Medical team and district administration conducted a one day assessment camp at PHC, Chen Town on July 27. The camping seeks to identify the Divyangjan/Persons with Disability (PwDs) in need of aids and assistive devices in the area and after proper assessment the devices shall be provided to the persons identified at a free of cost on their next visit stated ALIMCO Official.
NSCN (IM) condemns
DIMAPUR, JULY 29 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today condemned an incident on July 26 at The Ocean Lounge, Khuman Lampak, Imphal where a young Naga lady along with her six friends were “physically assaulted with arms by some members belonging to UNLF (Pambei) group. “The way the unruly members of UNLF (Pambei) attacked a young Naga lady who was verbally abused, mishandled and followed by physical molestation and even brandishing fire arms and beating up severely to the other six friends who came to rescue her is highly condemnable,” a press release from the NSCN (IM) stated. This act of violence committed against the innocent civilians is not acceptable in our society, it stated, and urged the UNLF (Pambei) authority to “keep a tight rein on such elements within the group if at all justice is to be done.”
NSCN (IM) declares
DIMAPUR, JULY 29 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has declared that as per CAO of Komrem Region, GPRN, “the bona fide tribe status of the tribes of Aimol, Chiru, Kom, Koireng, Kharam and Purum is Naga as they have officially merged with the Nagas.” “Thus, there should be no confusion about their tribe identities whatsoever. Therefore, these, Naga tribes should not be harassed in any manner including in the name of taxation by the Kuki organizations or valley based organizations. These Naga tribes as part of the Naga family should be respected and honoured,” a press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) stated.
